Smell: A sweet and balanced whisky with aromas of sweet honey, fresh fruits, apples, pears, grapes, plums, vanilla, caramel, dried fruits, subtle sweet sherry, white pepper, cinnamon, sweet cloves, nutmeg, subtle mineral tones, hint of orange zest and creamy oak.
Taste: A soft, sweet and balanced whisky with aromas of sweet honey, pepper, ripe red apple, pear, plums, fresh figs, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, toffee, malt, barley sugar, sweet sherry, some dried fruits, subtle tannins, earthy tones, hay, orange zest, hint of lemon oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, and creamy oak
Finish: A medium long en slightly drying finish with aromas of subtle sherry, dried fruits, citrus, Turkish delight, subtle tannins and oak.
Conclusion: A well balanced vatted malt. It’s quite restrained and subtle but the flavours are lovely. A nice malt whisky that has more to over than you might think. It needs some time in the glass to really open up and a wee drop of water can help you here.
All in all a nice and enjoyable whisky that I can certainly recommend
