he wants a lot of attention and wants to develop something - always breathe directly out of the glass he does not like - could be due to low residual alcohol - give it the time he reminds me already of the complexity of old Talisker 25 CS just without their already discreet Sherry influence - this is the Ex Bourboncask one of the sweet tempting variety that I could just breathe completely - delicious part
    • Nose
      90 90
Oatmeal, mineral lemon, lime, banana juice, salt liquorice, very little smoke, spray, seaweed, harbor air

after 15 minutes in the glass, it is again significantly oily and sweeter - this fruity honey sweetness combines with birch water, tincturous tingling kombucha with barely perceptible fermentation, sweet and vanilla, sweet and coconut,
    • Taste
      89 89
Powdered sugar, cascades of various citrus aromas of peel, pulp, lemon, citrus oil, juice, zest - in addition to mint, freshly cut green wood - tannins, sawdust, slight tingling on the tongue - reminding me of Federweisser or kombucha, tree juice, licorice, marzipan, cinnamon , Nutmeg - cooling, fresh, herbaceous - spicy - very good, very long chewable - without it becoming too thin
    • Finish
      88 88
warm, grassy residual sweetness, citrus zests, nuts, mint tea - surprisingly long for the alcohol content - but he does not want tiny sips

Hard to judge, a great pure Talisker with sharp, pointed notes, but never really alcoholic, so qualitatively eigtl nothing to complain about, I'm one of it eigtl. Just more complex.
    • Nose
Very light and "clear", banana, coconut, white chocolate, light grapes, lemon ice, mineral, bourbon oak, fresh cocoa, cinnamon, marzipan, almonds and clear grapefruit juice
    • Taste
Lemon, lime, powdered sugar, salt and pepper, kiwi, light, sharp smoke and ash, but very fine, pineapple, banana and cinnamon, light malt, oily, green apple with shell
    • Finish
Still clear and compact, pepper, pineapple, lime and a hint of ash, oily, green apple and grapefruit

notes from whisky fun : Talimburg
    20 yo 1986/2006 (43.8%, The Whisky
    Fair ‘Artist Edition’)

    Colour: pale straw. Nose: extremely
precise and pure at first nosing –
    another of these ‘riesling’
    malts, it appears. Lemony, mineral
and smoky but not extremely peppery.
Huge flinty notes, lots of grapefruit
    juice… Something of a margarita
cocktail, almost sharp like a blade
but also with kind of a softness (it’s
    far from being overpowering). The
kind of profile I like a lot.
we have more oomph now, with quite
a peat blast right at the attack.
Quite smoky, salty and peppery as
    ‘it should be’, with the
fruits being in the background now
except some bold notes of apple skin.
    Very compact, very satisfying, very
pure – and the rather long finish
is just in the same vein (even saltier
in fact). Not too complex but very,
    very good: 90 points

Talimburg 20 years old 1986/2006 The Whisky Fair Artist Edition - 43.8% Color: Yellow Straw
Nose: Attack on peat, the characteristic peppery notes are more discreet.
The peat is well melted with citrus, lemon and grapefruit.
Nice iodine and mineral notes, very coastal.
On the 2nd nose we have farm notes mixed with fresh fruits, very pretty.
Palate: Gentle attack, the alcohol is controlled, on the peat medicinal.
Pepper is more present than on the nose, less fruity with just some lemony notes.
    Liquor notes in the background.
A long finish iodized and finely peated.
This bottle opened for 6 months has lost in mouth since its opening, the mouth was much more expressive.
Palm of the ugliest label in my collection
    Rating: 89/100

on a good level, but still a slight disappointment. The sample is emptied, I do not need a big bottle.
    • Nose
fresh, slightly damp soil, light fruit (especially apple aromas), spicy notes, but surprisingly little pepper, as a rule rather a backward contemporary with correspondingly little peat smoke
    • Taste
unfortunately a bit too thin and powerless, here but now the chili-catch, but quite moderate, again earth, this time, however, drier than even in the nose
    • Finish
Surprisingly (so) long with the hoped for slight heat explosion .... here most typical a Talisker!
