Well. I just do not know. It is better than the Burgundy Wood (that is no
contest), but really good? I will not recommend it. If you can still find it,
you can add it to your cabinet for about 40 EUR.
    • Nose
Hmm, the nose starts off very nicely. Sweet on
grapefruit, sultanas, apples and a touch of bubblegum. Unfortunately, the whole
collapses rather quickly, leaving only caramel.
    • Taste
On the palate, it is that caramel, with some ginger,
that can be discerned. Midpalate, the sweet wine lurks around the corner
without going over the top. Towards the end, I even get a hint of salt pushing
      the wine back.
    • Finish
The finish is medium in length and dies a sweet/salty
      death.

Body: Soft, grainy  and dry on the tongue .
    • Nose
      Sweet. Very spicy. Cakey.
    • Taste
Buttery. Barley-sugar sweetness at first: toffee , chewy , and cake. Cinnamon and spices. A teasing interplay of the madeira and the distillery character.
    • Finish
A little bit short but sweet. Some rummy warmth.

Not a bad whisky, not really a high ace but quite allright!
    • Nose
Mild, anice, winey, vanilla, malty, briney, light sweetness and some floral notes. (Diluted: cooling, winey and fruit)
    • Taste
Soft, creamy, spicey (Diluted: spiced fruit and vanilla icecream)
    • Finish
Warm, spicey, touch of floral notes, dry

    • Nose
Bananas and vanilla. Roasted nuts and some Madeiraaroma. Smells incredibly cool.
    • Taste
Not quite as soft as he smells. A little tingling on the tongue in addition to oak comes. Salivation begins and oranges go steeply. At the end, the fruits are very dark. Maybe some dark chocolate.
    • Finish
Nice complex and really great. Too bad that it does not exist anymore. The finish is already neatly long.

A stonkingly good and rather rare Glenmorangie,

finished in large Madeira drums. The result is a fruity, creamy whisky with a

slight orange hue to it. Very tasty indeed!

  12. granella2003 scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Sweet and sticky aromas, with hints of fresh, tangy citrus, dates and plums,
stewed fruits, apple sauce and pepper.
    • Taste
Butterscotch, manuka honey, malt and fruit gums, apple juice, caramel, salted butter and chocolate.
    • Finish
Long and spiced, creamy and very fruity

  13. drkrylov scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      Sweet. Very spicy. honey-cake. Baclava?
    • Taste
Unusually buttery. Barley-sugar sweetness at first: toffeeish, chewy, cakey. Then nutty, seed-like and grainy as it dries. Cinnamon and spices.
    • Finish
Short and sweet. Salty, oaky, rummy.

The nose is wonderful, lots of Madeira and raisins, Taste balanced and smooth, more Madeira and dried fruit, some wood, Body is medium to mellow, Finish is medium to long, some spice and pepper with more Madeira and toffee. Priced is fair but the bottles are getting harder to find. Presentation is nice tube desciption

Very acceptable - though it took over half a bottle to reach appreciation of it.
    • Nose
A little "winey" with dried fruit at the back. Malty
    • Taste
The caramelised sugar from the creme brulee hits immediately, then goes into the slight cardboard - that's what tastes dry to me. A trace of vanilla.
    • Finish

The caramel is back. Quite long, finishing on a very slightly bitter note, but now quite mouthwatering.

The Madeira is wonderful to drink anytime with friends or for a night cap. The girls tend to drink this because it is sweet and has notes of raisin and warm brown sugar in the end.

    • Nose
      sweet, spicy, lemon, honey
    • Taste
butter, toffee, cake, cinnamon, spices, hay
    • Finish
      short and sweet

Matured in bourbon casks for around 10 years followed by 2 years of finishing in madeira drums.
