Tasty, fresh and yet fairly strong dram, it does fine on warm summer evenings. Nice mix of sherry and rum barrels.
    • Nose
Sweaty, clear rumors. hazelnuts, cherries. vanilla, citrus, raisins. Fresh, full. Now also some spicy, cinnamon.
    • Taste
Very light peppers, rum. Full, creamy. Honey, sweet, vanilla, somewhat caramel. Couple of nips later he becomes softer. Somewhat dry in the mouth.
    • Finish
Medium, slightly bitter, wood influences? Sweet weather, honey, vanilla, caramel. Rum influences can also be seen here.

A few drops of water open it and visibly good. Maybe something for a walk in the early autumn - or better afterwards ;-)
    • Nose
Freshly sawn young wooden beams, sawdust, white grapes and suitable to restrained notes of resin bright wood. An idea of green malt, vanilla and hints of exotic fruits like pineapple and guava. The rum barrel floats above everything. Water first supplies pineapple & freshly beaten wood. Milk chocolate, milk cream and some leather gradually join in the process. In the background, malted milk and a few "green notes" roam about.
    • Taste
Slightly oily mouthfeel. Fresh wood, vanilla and pineapple. Removes & shy hints at a deli. Water conjures up freshly beaten wood, fruits sprinkled with vanilla powder and thin rum notes with fine ginger on the tongue.
    • Finish
Rum dessert. Exotic fruits, rough wooden beams. Finished with water this Riegger Tomatin with mellow vanilla cream in milk chocolate, small woody swabs, a dryness of too long pulled tea & a tiny Nussigkeit.

A very nice summer whisky for a really attractive price! Straightforward, sweet and delicious, it does not overwhelm beginners, yet offers enough complexity for connoisseurs. Riegger has hit the time of filling well, I have no longer found metallic youth, only the involvement of the alcohol in the nose could be nicer.
    • Nose
At first rum dominates, unfortunately the alcohol stings a bit in the nose. I decide to give the malt 15 minutes to "breathe". Then: cream caramel candies, hazelnuts, cherries and some cereal - cornflakes. The sherry keg for the initial ripening brings raisins and some prunes. In the distance, I hear what distinguishes Tomatin for me: tropical fruits. Pineapple and mango, with lemon juice. Pretty complex for the tender age of 7 years. Unfortunately, the alcohol continues to be quite clear - a young malt just. With a few drops of water (economical!) Alcohol can be largely expelled from the nose.
    • Taste
Very creamy and pleasant, the alcohol is better integrated on the tongue. Sweet Caribbean rum, freshly cooked caramel, honey and Cremė brûlée. The sherry keg I find in the taste barely, only a few, generously soaked in rum, raisins announce the Erstreifung in a sherry barrel.
    • Finish
Short to medium, the whisky leaves the mouth. Beginning oak spicy and brown sugar candy, which is melted very slowly on the tongue. The impression of grain is also back, it goes well with the omnipresent, vanilla sweetness. The rum also gives the finish a sweet and fruity note that reminds me a bit of molasses.
