- N: Rather similar to the Bruichladdich Bere Barley WB with its new/vibrant oak and grassy/sweet, cereal led profile. There is too an underlying malty note but here its less heathery, hinting more at a light peatiness with raspberry yoghurt, sweet redcurrant lozenges, flat-leaf parsley, oat meal and mineral undertones.
T: Again, initially similar to the Bere Barley with its savoury/sweet but astringent/spirity arrival with a mild peppery zing. This one however is without the oak switch with a sweet<sour development. its mainly spirit led with only a softer, bitter oak influence on the palate. No change with water it seems.
F: Touches of aniseed besides bitter, charred oak, heather and dark chocolate powder - with pralines at the death.
C: Like the Bruichladdich, it has its moments but again the palate is drowned but the spirit, and its not as comfortable as one would like.
