Really amazing bottling displaying a wonderful mix of candies, hay, flowers, chocolate milk, and spices.

Marshmallows, cotton candy, vanilla, honey, marzipan, sugar roasted almonds, fresh hay, white flowers, elderberry, white pepper. Fruity, meadowy, and full of candy. Lots of jelly beans. Fabulous.

Marvellous. Perfect alcohol level, it would be madness to add water to this. Fantastic balance. Cane sugar and fruit juices, ripe pear, ripe apple, strawberries, and exotic fruits. Very light smoke, or tobacco leaves, light oaky spices, good dose of barley, all in great balance. Slightly drier on the second chew, more perfumed notes come out along with jelly beans, then dried thyme, light liquorice, and more wood spices. Third chew reveals a thicker, more oily structure, it's really all over the palate. Black pepper joins in along with custard, very light chocolate milk, hay, and light smoke. Very wide taste spectrum.
    • Finish
      90 90
Peppery warmth, milk, custard, jelly beans, fruit juice, dried herbs, oaky spices, all slowly rolling off. At the very end some very light notes of something swampy or boggy joins in, sort of odd, but not an actual off-note.

After a wonderful Littlemill tasting, the duck emerged victorious together with HB in 1988.

Thanks to Andreas, Nick and Kim

    WITHOUT WATER:
Clear 92 points ... just awesome .... I always want something like that! WITH WATER:
If anything well meant 88 points
    • Nose
      Without water:
What a nose, no trace of alcohol, incredible floral, meadow, heather, butter, lots of hay, old barn, as if I were standing in a sea of flowers. With water:
Hay, hay, hay and even more hay, almost smells like old muff, the flowers are gone, the meadow is easy to guess ...
    • Taste
      Without water:
Meadow, hay, alcohol tingles lightly on the tongue With water:
Almost like water on the tongue, which lacks rumbling, the flavors are not so intense for a long time
    • Finish
      Without water:
Long, hay, meadow, roses, elderberry, butter, pine cones With water:
Almost a short, light, the meadow is hard to taste, even the hay is not so intense ...

Nose: after the initial grassy and
surprisingly minty wave has passed, this one shows a very candied
profile. Banana jellies, pink grapefruits, papaya. Less of the acidic
notes (passion fruits) this time. Instead lots of milky vanilla, with
some marzipan as well. Also lovely waxy notes, paraffin, almost the old
Ben Nevis-style lipstick notes. After a while the mint / eucalyptus oil
returns. What a great nose. Mouth: utterly fruity, very tropical, with
lots of warming and exotic fruits. Papaya, guava, banana, pineapple and
coconut. Mid-palate it gets a little greener, with some tobacco leaves,
green tea and oak. Again really waxy. I can’t stop thinking of the
unique Ben Nevis style, only much fruitier. Finish: long, with fruit tea
    and salty oak.
This pretty much blew me away, just like the sherry casks that were bottled in 2012.
It’s such a wonderful whisky and this particular example is more
complex and more unique than the already great bourbon casks of the last
few months. Around € 135. Sold out.
    Score: 92/100
