- http://www.weinkenner.de/2014/clynelish-und-brora-1965er-corti-brothers-vs-1972er-the-big-cat-34156/ Color: Old gold with copper
Nose: At the beginning creamy-fat with notes of wood stain / polish, oranges, leather and vanilla. Old earthy impressions are added, as well as cigar ashes, color, stinging nettles and oily-black elder. A great seasoning consisting of salt, black pepper and paprika powder accompanies the range of flavors. Class and "very old style"!
Taste: Starting here with a thin consistency. Red fruits, blood oranges and delicious sherry, accompanied by salty, dominate at the beginning. Now notes of old furniture and nut liqueur are added, and the old Clynelish gets more going. Dries dry by emerging oak and also slightly herb, but still remains quite thin.
Finish: Medium-long - flavors of orange, cocoa and chocolate with sea salt and some smoke and ash make up the finish. Towards the end getting drier with black tea aromas, attached herbs, bourbon vanilla and old sherry notes that puncture again and again.
Comment: A nice old-style Clynelish, which unfortunately lacks some pep to justify an even higher score.
