Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1997 TWM

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.94 points

    Absolutely one of the
best Clynelish 1997. Was about 85 EUR, but long gone, of course. Darn.
    • Nose
      The nose is creamy
and round with loads of fruit. Stewed pears, grapefruit, passion fruit, a hint
of green banana and sugared lemon slices. Beeswax. Fir honey
makes it succulent. All very typical and oh so good.
    • Taste
      Wonderfully sweet and
succulent on the palate. Almost fatty, in fact. All the fruit returns, but in a
wonderful marmalade. Not a lot of oak or spices, but that does not make it any
less good. On the contrary. A lot more citrus (grapefruit, lemon) than the nose
      promised. Even quite zesty. Delicious!
    • Finish
      Nice long and warm
finish that, despite the mildly drying effect, remains fruity until the last
      moment.

    Strong!
    • Nose
Coconut milk, saturated with the almond nut. An apricot filling, layered with lulo orange and papaya.
    • Taste
Beeswax, dripped in the hay. Followed by shrubs, camouflaged with ground pepper, closed with a light salty sea breeze
    • Finish
Medium long. A mouth-filling warmth of ginger, followed by a speck of vanilla and citrus zest

  3. Bishlouk scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Nose: Waxy to death. Pear, a distant iodine, apple, honey, cherry plum. Palate: Apple and pear, varnish. It grows in the mouth and it's really good. Verdict: A Clynelish '' wam bam boom '' very recognizable. An extraordinary nose, which carries. It just misses the chills.
