Whisky Reviews for Drumguish Decanter

5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 70.69 points

  1. Whisky Hamster scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

Pleasant for what it is (at least the long-open bottle I tried from). Nothing special but easy-sipping and likewise a nice look into the recent past.

  3. Xaver did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Well, now is not a high-flyer, but that's one that could be sipped straight from the bottle. If you like ...: D
    • Nose
Some sweetish fruit. Cereals, lavender, freshly varnished wood. Bit of disinfectant and slight bitterness. Lemon, which brings something sour, sparkling. The alcohol sticks out and brings subtle sharpness over. With some time in the glass the part reminds me of dark chocolate with Mirabelle spirit. Always directly behind, the wood finish.
    • Taste
Mild, watery onset. Very easy. The flavors do not evolve properly at all. The second, larger sip I have green banana, sweet mirabelle and a pinch of pepper. The alcohol is something there, but does not bother me now. Somehow it tastes like watery, dark wheat beer and some bitter, sour lime.
    • Finish
Short. Artificial sweetness with minimal bitterness. Some breakfast cereal.

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 60 points Connoisseur

A single malt whisky like a simple blend. You can also say that the price range fits, you can drink it too. If he had been a little less alcoholic in his mouth, then a few more points would have been in it.
    • Nose
light, fruity, malty, some cardboard, young, but not as young as feared. In sum, no nose that makes you ponder, but undoubtedly single malt whisky in its simplest form.
    • Taste
For 40% neat thrust, unfortunately also a significant alcohol note in the game, some fruit, some malt.
    • Finish
On the finish, dry, even a little peat smoke, tart and slight Fruchtanklänge.

  5. whiskyinstitut scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

No miss notes, very light, of course somewhat watered down, but otherwise an absolute tip for the price. The overtakes almost everything in the price range. Well done!
    • Nose
Gummy bears without end, light vanilla, pear and banana together, juice oranges, after the first sip of some oak
    • Taste
Sweet vanilla, the yellow fruits are back, here comes the oak at the second sip
    • Finish
Oak and vanilla and a hint of yellow fruit
