Like the Passion, the Springs is a rock-solid single malt made by Glenfarclas. No Sherry Monster with complex flavors, but a delicious all-day dram. In my opinion, a great PLV! My notes from Springs coincide with my notes from the Passion.

The only criticism is the missing age (NAS) and the sparse information about this bottling.
    • Nose
Strong and amber, the Glenfarclas shines in the glass. Oily and heavy, the drops run back into the glass when panning. Fine and fruity sherry rises from the glass. It is followed by a pleasant sweetness and honey, gradually adding slightly pungent alcohol. At the end a touch of oak.
    • Taste
The mouth fills with the first sip of fruity, slightly sweet oak. Sherry mixes with the wooden aroma. Complex and powerful, the Springs exudes a plump warmth in the mouth.
    • Finish
The long finish unfolds again these mighty wood flavors. Fruity sherry stays in the mouth long and warm. A great and powerful finish.

Springs is part of the Multi Vintage Trilogy that was bottled exclusively for the German market. The series is also called The Legend of Speyside and the names represent three key elements in Glenfarclas history, origin, passion and collaboration. The whisky matured in pure sherry casks produced by a Spanish cooper company, José & Miguel Martin. The youngest whisky in the barrel is eight years old, but further information about the composition is missing. It was bottled in 2014 at a high strength of 46% and has not undergone cold filtering. There are only 6000 bottles of each variety.
    The color is dark gold.
    • Nose
The smell is typical Glenfarclas, with aromas of preserved fruit, raisins, red apples, sweet spices and an accent of honey.
    • Taste
The taste has notes of exotic fruit, soft oak, dark chocolate and fresh coffee.
    • Finish
The finish is pleasantly sweet with notes of ripe berries and lingering notes of oak.

It starts off creamy and ends that way too.
    • Nose
      80 80
A sweet fruitiness dominates towards bananas and ripe pears.
    • Taste
      70 70
It remains fruity, the throat is filled with creamy chocolate, some oak and sherry appear, then it goes dry in the mouth, and then
    • Finish
      70 70
transition into creamy dark chocolate in the medium-long finish.

Nice to drink. But I'm too young. The spirit is still very clear.
    • Nose
Fruity sweetness of ripe pears, honey and flower meadow. Caramel behind, some sherry. Also a hint of carnation and oak. Atrocious teen race spritliness.
    • Taste
Sweet again, floral, honey-fruity. Then again the roar of the young spirit. Some oak, some sherry and coffee.
    • Finish
      Oranges, some coffee, Spirit.

I have tasted the trilogy together with this one being the second one.
Not outstanding, but not bad either, especially for the price.
All of them are pretty similar and Glenfarclas is adamant about them
being three different whiskies. Well, yes, that is most likely the case,
they just happen to be very similar.
    Passion (83p) > Springs (82p) > Team (80p)
    • Nose
Stewed fruits, apples, raisins, all of your basic, (refill) sherry Glenfarclas style really
    • Taste
Less intense than Passion, sweeter, same basic characteristics of oakyness, chocolate, coffe
    • Finish
Medium length, shorter and less oak than Passion
