A rock solid single malt from Glenfarclas. No Sherry Monster with complex flavors, but a delicious all-day dram. In my opinion, a great PLV!
The only criticism is the missing age (NAS) and the sparse information about this bottling.
    • Nose
Strong and amber, the Glenfarclas shines in the glass. Oily and heavy, the drops run back into the glass when panning. Fine and fruity sherry rises from the glass. It is followed by a pleasant sweetness and honey, gradually adding slightly pungent alcohol. At the end a touch of oak.
    • Taste
The mouth fills with the first sip of fruity, slightly sweet oak. Sherry mixes with the wooden aroma. Complex and powerful, the Passion exudes a plump warmth in the mouth.
    • Finish
The long finish unfolds again these mighty wood flavors. Fruity sherry stays in the mouth long and warm. A great and powerful finish.

Glenfarclas bottled three NAS whiskys especially for the German market. This Multi Vintage Trilogy is known as The legend of Speyside. The names are taken from three key traits of the distillery's history, passion, origin and collaboration. Little is known about its composition. The youngest whiskys used are eight years old and the casks come from the Spanish cooperage José & Miguel Martin. In 2014 the whisky was bottled un-chill filtered at a strength of 46%. There are only 6000 bottles available per variety.
    The color is dark gold
    • Nose
The nose has aromas of apples, raisins, stewed fruit, honey and sherry.
    • Taste
The taste is remarkably intense and complex, notes of sherry maturation, dark chocolate, coffee, a pinch of salt and some fine bitters from the oak.
    • Finish
The finish is quite long, with notes of vanilla and soft oak.

The influence of the sherry barrel is sought in vain and the promising sweetness lasts only a moment before it completely vanishes - 02.12.2016

the finish and nose are spot on but the taste is far of from those two ,I can't see the link between this whisky and why they choose the name passion for it, it doesn't taste like a whisky with lots of passion

In contrast to Springs the Passion can handle the game with water. In this way you will find the beginnings of cherries and strawberries, which are now hard to get even at Glenfarclas.

I have tasted the trilogy together with this one being the first one. Not outstanding, but not bad either, especially for the price.
All of them are pretty similar and Glenfarclas is adamant about them
being three different whiskies. Well, yes, that is most likely the case,
they just happen to be very similar.
    Passion (83p) > Springs (82p) > Team (80p)
    • Nose
Stewed fruits, apples, raisins, all of your basic, (refill) sherry Glenfarclas style really
    • Taste
Quite intense, oak bitterness, dark chocolate, coffee, but not too much and not unpleasant
    • Finish
Pretty long, oak stays for quite some time
