- http://kaypingers-whiskyblog.de/frontend/fullarticle.php?id=315 Colour:
gold Nose: Leather, barley, beeswax, apricot, mild lemon juice with grapefruit. Sparkling spicy and provided with a light rubber. Grasig fresh and kept surprisingly young for 23 years. Taste: Soft, creamy, spicy, grassy and fresh! The distinctive salt content and the herbal freshness suppress the emerging fruit notes a little, but the apricot fruit still stands out partially. Somewhat bitter with hints of nutmeg and peppery at the same time - overall striking and little "sweet" kept! Finish: Medium long - still delicately creamy and lined with a good portion of pepper. The freshness of mint and juicy herbs is in the finish. Similar to the notes of taste, but now with more honey as fruit. 87 points N: 86P / G: 87P / F: 87P
- Pleasant whisky, but not outstanding. Overpriced.
Floral. Vanilla, honey, milk caramel, fruits and tonic.
Refined. Matured oak. Tonic, nutmeg, vanilla and candied orange peel.
Medium length, spicy, sweet.
- Tasting Notes:
- Dark, oaky, sherried with dried fruits, liquorice and a slight mustiness. Very dense and closed-down, hard to pick out individual flavours. Quite quaffable and would make for a fine daily dram - but not at this price point.
