Finish

garnicht mal so unlang...schön trocken holzig, Pflaumenmarmelade, Tannine, gebuttertes Schwarzbrot.

Comments

einfach nur eine wuchtige, leckere Sherrybombe. Alter? Mal abwarten was da noch so kommt.

A very reactive cask was used to mature this spirit - milk chocolate, espresso, cherries, prunes, raisins. Water brings out more oranges and apricots. Very aromatic, but also the young age of the spirit is apparent.

Taste

Very consistent with the nose, more of chocolate, espresso and dark stewed fruits. Some wood spices with cloves, cinnamon and chilli further reveal the age of the spirit.

Finish

Sweet at first, on the fruity side, after a while becomes quite spicy on pepper. Alcohol does not go unnoticed too.

Comments

Uncomplicated, quite one-dimensional, but a good sherry bomb it is.

Very sweet and fruity, lively despite the strength. An alcoholic sharpness. Brown sugar, plums, wood varnish, cherries. Explodes with water, very strong. Malt and herbs come through.

Taste

High strength, but the alcohol is well integrated and only burns a little (for the abv). sweet dried fruits, mainly papaya and dates.

Finish

Metallic, sharp, a little sweet. Reveals youth. Some hot spices and prunes, chocolate and a little coffee.

Comments

Tasted blind in day 7 of the Usquebaugh Society Blind Tasting Comprtition 2015.

My guess was a young Aultmore, 6yo at 62%.

Toffee, apple compote, cranberry, pepper, banana. With water cherry, nutmeg and a little mint.
Taste

Caramel, raspberry, pepper, cranberry and mocha. With water also cinnamon.

Finish

Caramel, hazelnut, cherry and apricot.

Comments

Blind tasting of a sample. Clearly very young, but I like its profile. I was convinced that this was a new addition in the Adelphi line of 7-year-old Glenrothes but was fooled completely.

Strong, full flavored, overripe red fruits, old cigars

Finish

Quite long, red fruits, dark chocolate, tobacco, slightly bitter, slightly drying

Comments
Tasted at day 7 of the Usquebaugh Society blind tasting competition 2015. Tasted with a little water.

My guess was a Longmorn, 17yo at 59% vW. I knew this wasn't quite the Longmorn that I had experience with, but there were a lot of vW bottlings and I don't know how much they are apart. So that's why I guessed Longmorn.
