    • Nose
Fresh, slightly pungent. Grilled lemon, green apple, lime juice, a little mint. Embers. Sweet light grapes.
    • Taste
Sweet, spicy. Apricots, smoked pepper, honey and mint. Some ash.

It does not taste like the normal blue, has no smoky notes for me, more spicy, nutty. Strong onset, very strong, but also very aromatic, with light vanilla. Gorgeous! ... if he was not so expensive.

Color: Gold - oily thick legs

Nose: Starts with beautiful chocolate flavors, slowly joined by smoke, which becomes stronger, oranges, oak, chili

Mouth: Here, too, the chocolate clearly recognizable, pepper, white pepper, chili, oranges, voluminous mouthfeel, almost reminiscent of Talisker

Finish: On the white pepper with chili and chocolate, slowly fading away

Conclusion: smoother than expected, could smoothly go through as "indie-Talisker", the realization that blends can be delicious (albeit at a hefty price, on the other hand, I had even worse single malts in the price range in the glass).

The high alcohol content is in the good face.

Good. No smoke as like Johnnie blue. Not so bad. Drinkable but not excellent.

  5. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

A good whiskey, but far from arousing enthusiasm. And for that it is priced worlds too high.

The value for money is a disaster, even if you are lucky enough to get a bottle for € 200.
After I realized that this bottling is not suitable for the usual indulgent indulgence in the nosing glass, I thought about how I could otherwise use the whiskey ... In the meantime - and I'm happy with it - I drink it as a highball, together with soda water and a thick ball of ice. He's well suited for this, if not quite as good as 12-year-old Yamazaki.
    • Nose

A little smoke, oranges, vanilla, honey, bananas, oak seasoning, melon, ripe apples, overripe cherries.
    • Taste
      84 84
Very delicate smoke. Strong. Peach, oak, lime, apple, slightly musty tea towel.
    • Finish
      83 83
Medium-long finish. Some vanilla with slightly fermented apple and light oak spice.

If I ever buy a JW Blue, that's the one. Allows you to play with water and at almost 50% higher abv. @1 liter compared to the normal version it's not that much more expensive really. Btw. the glass bottle weights a ton. ;-)

This is a fiasco. At the expense of the price it is not humane (85)

    • Taste
      Fruit, ash and cream (22)

Some sweetness and almost immediately a blast of peat all around
    • Finish
      85 85
      Long, smokey, and dry
