    Nose: overripe and juicy apples, orange marmalade, a subtle nuttiness, vanilla, floral and rural, delicate but noticeable oak
    Taste: here, the alcohol is only noticeable, something sparkling and bitter (orange peel), then comes a sau tasty note of hazelnut cream, coffee and oak. Very creamy in the mouth and intense but only medium in aftertaste. With water, the apple comes out better again. The creaminess remains but the roasted aromas become weaker.
    Great Malt with ingenious nose and end. Only in the middle he falls off a bit.

  3. Phillidae scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

    The first Glengoyne Single Cask I can taste and the drop I like really well. Soft and voluminous, without drowning in sherry. Recommended!
    • Nose
      Creamy sweet, the alcohol is at best very easy to feel. Vanilla, biscuit, apple pie, little oak and the hint of a darker fruit note. Very pleasant nose. Water emphasizes the fruit stronger and brings citrus flavors, the oak comes out a little clearer.
    • Taste
      Without water: very sweet with a creamy mouthfeel. The alcohol then comes through slowly and then tingles on the tongue, but remains weaker than expected. Oranges, oak, spice, tobacco. With water: as expected a bit milder, less sweet. Basic character is otherwise preserved.
    • Finish
      Medium-length and slightly spicy in the mouth. In the throat comparatively long and warm. With water, the finish seems a bit longer and fuller to me. Slightly dry.

    Tasty, nice example, which at only 12 years and only refill-barrel is so feasible.
    • Nose
      creamy, sweet, vanilla, toffee, butter biscuits; Malt ... and there is something rural in the background ... fresh bread, earth
    • Taste
      very clear lemon in the onset, juicy, tangy, lime, grapefruit (bitterness comes along) on the back of the tongue then coffee, pepper, a little dark sweetness
    • Finish
      long, strong, lime, coffee, pepper

    A nice single cask whisky. The nose is world class, but needs a little time to fully develop. Even with water, the nose is still very full; Taste and finish are not as strong as the nose, but still pleasing. The sherry influence is not that extreme, which I really like
    • Nose
      Raisins and dark dried fruits; a little sulfur / cowshed; beautiful, sweet vanilla comes over time; Mandarins and oranges are added; a little oak is there too; freshly mowed grass and above all this very typical apple note of Glengoyne enthrones; the alcohol is very well integrated; The scarce 60% you notice in the nose only discreetly
    • Taste
      now you notice the alcohol; again apples and vanilla; oak comes to it; not creamy; with water: very creamy; nice sweetness and fresh bitterness; the apples and the oak are still there; a little sherry and raisins;
    • Finish
      medium; neat alcohol again; in the end, the oak presses beautifully again; with water: pepper; getting dry; sweet apples and oak again; the palate remains fresh and fruity;

    Beautiful sherry malt with earthy notes. The nose is great. (Tasting in the chat-Stammtisch)
    • Nose
      Dark fruits such as black cherries and red grapes dominate the beginning of the nose. Overall heavy and full, earthy flavors come behind the fruits. Oak-heavy. Despite the strong 58.2%, the diverse flavors. After a while, the heaviness levels up, the fruits get lighter (red apples), the malt a little lighter overall.
    • Taste
      Undiluted expected strong in the start - but not too strong. Beautiful sherry flavors, toffee, malt candy, bread dough, espresso beans. Overall, very full and creamy on the tongue. Chocolate notes.
    • Finish
      In the finish flavors like from a coffee roasting, heavy, spicy. There is also a caramel note, a little fir honey. Surprisingly short, the finish.
