Whisky Reviews for Ardbeg 1975 DL

3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.67 points

  1. aphex scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

This one feels younger than its age. Not very complex and unfortunately there is this slight bitterness on the palate (bottle issue ?). Not bad but disappointing for an Ardbeg from the 70's.
    • Nose
Peat smoke, tar, diesel oil, medicinal notes, brine.
    • Taste
Peat, tar, lemons, brine and a bitterness. Let's try a few drops of water. A few aromatic herbs on the nose. Slightly less bitter on the palate but not that much. Peppery.
    • Finish
      Long, smoky, peppery.

    Dryness and bitterness.

  3. wisekycourse scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

On the nose, a smell of old port with its waste of fish, its fuel oil floating on the surface of the sea and the wind that brings a little iodine!
then wet, faded, packed herbs, lemon fruit and a little vanilla! ... a slap!
