    A beautiful, mature, somewhat idiosyncratic longrow - top; but in direct comparison, I prefer the same Springer ...!
    [Color] copper;
    • Nose
      90 90
      ripe fruit, sherry, trace smoke, seasoning, nuts;
    • Taste
      90 90
      full-bodied, dark fruit, nuts, cocoa, some smoke, ashes, dry sherry, spicy oak, pepper;
    • Finish
      89 89
      long spicy peppery salty finish; in the aftermath smoke;

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

    A fresh and invigorating bolt, initially more like Springbank than Longrow, but smoke and peaty notes still appear in development and everything falls into place; slightly watered, there is a lack of fortress, but otherwise very, very worthy product.
    • Nose
      Open, fresh, mineral-apple, lemonade, floral, lemon-orange notes, in the background malt, raw wood, crushed grain, weak smoke-peat tones; in general, more like a Springbank.
    • Taste
      Calm, smooth, oak-pepper with resin, coniferous notes, cream, fondant, spicy oak, candied ginger.
    • Finish
      Continuation of taste - resin, young pine needles, lemon, orange peels, red and green mango skin, candied fruits from exotic fruits, very long, at the end, a variety of sweet berry notes come to the fore.

    The finish is a bit weak but overall very drinkable
    • Nose
      Citrus, beeswax, peat and smoke, yeast dough, whiffs of leather
    • Taste
      Oily, really fine peat and smoke (no bitter notes), some fruity and woody notes
    • Finish
      Medium long, old wood, cardboard, a tad bitter

  9. Bosi scored this whisky 91 points Specialist

    As already mentioned, this filling is very complex and has rough edges, classic Springbank. Nevertheless, everything seems very balanced and never tried. That's how you create great whiskys.
    • Nose
      The nose starts in a classic way, and is nice and musty. The smoke goes in the direction of burnt match. Add fresh citrus notes, wax and a hint of ragout or garam masala. Wonderfully complex!
    • Taste
      The smoke is beautifully integrated and plays milk chocolate, mint and orange notes. With a little time, the barrel becomes more noticeable: some oak, slightly dry and smoked fish.
    • Finish
      The finish is medium long. Cold smoke, tea and some ginger remain.

  10. malthead-sven scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    Balanced and successful, the nose convinces the most
    • Nose
      ripe, yellow pears with sweet and light smoke, potato pancakes, buttercups and cherry blossoms, like a spring meadow, vanilla biscuits (Kipferl) plus some bath salts
    • Taste
      a broad spectrum of lovely sweet, spicy, smoky and slightly dry, overall stronger than the nose expects
    • Finish
      long, salty, the smoke remains discreetly incorporated, liquorice sticks and again light sea flavors
