    A very beautiful whisky!
This is one you won't find easy again.
    • Nose
      90 90
Although the age, this is still clearly Loch Lomond. A fruity nose, with a dirty side. Some lavender and perfume notes. Behind that there is caramel and some wood.
Very nice and layered nose this is.
After a while there is some meaty and coal smoke in the background.
    • Taste
      91 91
Sweet and sour, with an remarkable preserved distillery profile.
Very nice and deep notes of vanilla, caramel and sweet marshmallows. There is still the fruity and flowery note in the background.
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long length.
Gives an beautiful development from sweet to sour to fruitiness and fades away with some sweet caramel wood notes.

What an exciting old Inchmurrin! After 40 years of aging it manages to deliver a lively, vibrant and fresh whisky. Not overly complex but just good at what it does. Apples, citrus, vanilla, mint, eucalyptus and wood/sawdust.

Smells like a grain whisky. Very wood dominated.

For me personally a nice bottling that brings my memories back to an amazing sailing trip (organized by Whiskybase), whereby several Scottish islands were visited. At the warehouse of Cadenhead I've bottled this special Inchmurrin directly from the barrel.
    • Nose
Wow! Very fruity (tropical), but also grandmother's homemade applesauce, followed by scents of grain and hay, but also vanilla and some spiciness.
    • Taste
Some bitter, but also sweet and clear wood influences.
    • Finish
Medium-long with a spicy bitterness at the end.

Retasting it at home (previous on a festival)

Nose: dirty nose on  soft ginger herbal spices, sweetness in the back. Pallet: ketonic ginger after some time spices show themselves.Finish: medium,
Killed it with adding water, don't do it! I even added 6 drops to 1.5cl. The ginger spices emergency when doing this... The alcohol smell breaks lose, the nose collapse.

  6. Calmar scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

A tremendously powerful, lively and fresh mole, relatively little oak for 40 years of aging, the aroma is simple, yet deep and rich; taste / finish is perhaps a step higher - very dense and fresh, an excellent combination of bourbon derivatives with oak and apple-grassy basis, the strength, according to sensations, is higher than 10 percent - an extremely successful product.
    • Nose
Outdoor, herbal - wormwood, motherwort; solvent, resin, carpentry workshop, ether, lemon peel, eel apple, light alcohol, vanilla.
    • Taste
Powerful, green apple, apple juice, oak, pepper wave, sweet apple jam, homemade pastille, eucalyptus, mint.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, orange peel and grapefruit peel, sweet pink grapefruit, creamy notes - fondant, condensed milk; shortbread cookies, light tones of spicy oak, eucalyptus, apple pits.

Tasted at Vroenhovense Whiskyfeesten 2017 8/13

Very nice! Big on the sweet bourbon with a trace of smoke.
