Whisky Reviews for Springbank 15-year-old
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.87 points
- Tasty, in between. Had to like to be more complex, otherwise nothing to complain about.
sweet vanilla with Rumaroma, light peat smoke, liquid honey, some oak, spicy cinnamon and nutmeg in combination with sea air, then sherry, nuts, intense oranges, sticky caramel, raisins and berry compote
slightly bitter and sweet, oak and spicy, intense and full-bodied, a hint of vanilla, some dark chocolate and coffee, sherry
Warming, echoes of sherry, spicy-dry, maritime with a hint of smoke, slight bitterness
- Springbank 15 years, original bottling, 46% alc.
Region: Campbeltown, Scotland
Nose: Sherry tones, raisins, light berry fruit, cranberries, dark mens chocolate, marzipan and a distant floral note. A touch of cigar box. In addition, a very distant smoke is noticeable, this makes the whisky look even more complex.
Palate: Again the chocolate with high cocoa content, with some espresso. Dates and raisins, very light malt and toffee. Enjoyable.
Finish: Medium long with a dry and slightly spicy finish. Very smooth. The light smoke lingers a little longer.
Conclusion: This Springbank knows how to please, the nose is complex. The palate is awesome, the finish is a bit back.
