Compass Box The Spice Tree WID: 55483
Abv. 46%, American and French Oak, Blended Malt Whiskey
Nose: generous floral notes, sour apples still a little unripe, well balanced but not too heavy and not too light
Taste: spicy sweetness, with honey, agave juice and the apples from the nose
Departure: the light spice on the palate carries a short to medium-long finish, here I find more caramel, rather than fruit or flowers
Conclusion: a nice whiskey for the hot days. For my taste a touch too much acid. In my opinion, a reasonable PLV, but no buying reflex.

I seem to have lost my notes for this one, but I recall being underwhelmed by it. CB gets a lot of good press among whisky aficionados, but the few examples I've tried (Spice Tree, Peat Monster, and Hedonism) have not made me want to go out and buy more of their releases.

The Dram has harvested a lot of advance laurels and I'm glad to get to know him better.

Sweet and soft, with a nice yellow fruit. Honey and vanilla paired with a nice spice. Very pleasant and pleasant, if without corners and edges.
