Glendronach 1996 - 2013, 17 years - bottled by Kierzek, 52.9% alc., PX Sherry Puncheon, barrel number 1482, 698 bottles in total.
Nose: Very deep fruit notes, plums, blackberries and quite a bit of sherry. Dry and leathery, a (still) pleasant Essignote, sultanas and towards the end, a hint of smoke can be guessed. The oak has already given off a lot of aroma here, the dry and leathery aromas, but also the vinegar allow for associations with espresso. A great nose.
Palate: Strong spiciness without exploding throughout the mouth. Subsequently, a cocktail shoots over ripe fruits. The drought beats again here and reports tingling.
Finish: Medium, weaker than nose and palate. I would have liked more. On the tongue remains a furry sweetness, as you may recognize sultanas.
Conclusion: top whisky, an excessive Sherrymalt. To try something like that is really fun.
