  1. p4blo scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

This is certainly not a bad whisky, but for me it's too oaky and its influence pushes all the good things aside.
    • Nose
Gentle aromas of honey, candy floss, vanilla, pepper and a hint of nail polish remover/alcohol.
    • Taste
Quite thick and oily. A nice fruity side with hint of tropical fruits salad, but then a rather nervous, spicy attack follows. Too much wood makes it bitterish and tannic.
    • Finish
Sweet at first, but rapidly becomes tannic and bitterish, too much oak.

aroma: suds, peaches, pears, vanilla pods| taste: sweet, dessert, cheesecake, apple seeds, nuts, a little cereal at the end

  4. Tomek scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

nose: varnish, solvent (something like in Ben Nevis), some vanilla and pepper, honey, pear - overall pretty good
Taste: A mild fruity start followed by a strong pepper and chili punch
finish: initially quite sweet, apple and then a bit bitter
    Rating: 5 (aroma +0.5 points)

  6. Falnor scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Nice old speysider with a broad spectrum of interesting tastes. Nonetheless a bit steep price wise.
    • Nose
Dried up fruit and potpourri. Very floral with a dusty side. A nice old nose. After a while the real fruit pops up and it becomes a tropical (dusty) dish.
    • Taste
Mango, Coconuts and bananas give it a nice sweetness. Zesty from white pepper, cinnamon and a sugared bread. I also got licorice allsorts.
    • Finish
The oak won't dry up in the end, but is present.
