    A really tasty old smoker. The smoke has already broken down elegantly, but the malt still has a lot of power. Was fun to try.
    • Nose
      Nice notes from the bourbon barrel. Wood sugar. Vanilla. Salted caramel. Baked banana. Some wax. Also something like candle wick. Relatively mild smoke that tends towards wood smoke with herbal notes. Warm wood tones.
    • Taste
      First salted caramel again. Orangebiscuits. Herbal honey. Then the alcohol makes itself felt. In addition, nice sharpness. Cayenne pepper. It tingles pleasantly. The smoke here is almost even more subtle than in the nose and only comes through a little more towards the finish.
    • Finish
      Still some sharpness. Comfortable warm smoke. Heather. Cardamom. Dry wood notes.

    In the mouth it performs really well with the balance and the spectrum of flavors, the nose is at least a good 3P behind, much too hidden and shy, the finish is somewhere in between. Awesome part for Talisker fans (like me too).

      Interesting nose, very calm, pistachio, cardamom, camphor and vanilla come through, later ginger, salt, almonds, almost marzipan & sweet pastries, creamy like others write, mashed banana
    • Taste
      Mhh, great mixture and the alcohol is present, but ingeniously integrated right from the start, orange peel, candied and fresh, grapefruit, some blood orange, candied lemon, lemongrass, ginger, some chilli, has something of a great, very old 30y + Talisker , salty chips, then herbal honey, a bit of vanilla and floral hints in between, sweet tobacco, oak in the background holds back, but is there, again very creamy

      Chilli, grapefruit, blood orange, nutmeg, lemongrass, green tea, long

    Nose: some smoke with the addition of sweet elements. additionally palpable fruit. Of course, also sea salt.

    Taste: Notes are fairly hidden before adding water. With peat domination. After adding water, it becomes slightly creamy and fruits appear. Of course, in the background you can see oak and sea salt. All notes are very well composed.
    Rating: 93 100 Quite long peat finish. Classy whisky would know this bottle All notes nicely arranged in a subtle way. Unfortunately, in my opinion, you must have experience in whisky tasting to enjoy its taste, because not all notes are so easily perceptible.

    What can I say?
    Another wonderful Port Ellen, but best not add water. Just under 800 EUR, which
    is the new norm for Port Ellen. Unfortunately, for this is a great whisky. But
    certainly not a whisky for everyone’s purse.
    • Nose
      Camphor and mint come
      out first on this nose, that balances between sweet and salty. Loads of ginger,
      some vanilla and then the typical sea salt manifests itself. This is exquisite.
      Sniffing tobacco and candied oranges give it some extra sweetness. After a few
      moments it even becomes creamy, almost waxy. Slightly overripe banana?
      Beautiful! I added some water, which made the tobacco more prominent, but also
      a hint of plasticine emerges. That was not a good idea.
    • Taste
      The arrival is indeed
      wonderfully creamy and sweet on lemongrass and candied oranges. Then the peat
      takes the lead. Very smoky and salty on the palate. Peppery as well, with a
      hint of chili. Again ginger, upholstered with some liquorice. Diluted I get
      more oak, but also more salt.

      wonderfully long, smoky and salty.
