Watts a part. The one here is a splits I sign times with my Friedrich Wilhelm. Without water almost indefinable ... totally delicious with water. Exactly my case. Geilo
    • Nose
Nice dark and sulphurous nose. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not well integrated. Over time, the alcohol evaporates. But it now smells like pups, sulfur with fermented fruits and meat. Ah, so it can be fruity with water. In addition, something comes with leather. So sofa, not SM ...
    • Taste
Boah is the bitter ... there shakes me. Full mop of sherry in the schnapps. He pulls the last saliva from the Zahnzwijschräumen. With each additional sip he loses the bitterness and becomes increasingly pleasant. It is balanced with water and still does not taste like the 0815 sherry malt.
    • Finish
Old steward, what's that ?! Here again extremely bitter and spicy sherry. With water you notice how the oak winds up the esophagus.

What a good, accurate description. Even if I just like a malt and therefore also in this particular case much better rate: The description fits my exact, is even more detailed! Chapeau!
    Thank you !

Violent, fleshy, sulfuric Sherrymalt, massive oak, on the edge of too bitter, but overall simply delicious.

    Mortlach 1990-2013, 23 years, 55.1% alc.
    Bottler: Hart Brothers
    Aging: Sherry keg (first fill)
Region: Speyside, Scotland Nose: Very special, dirty sherry, earthy and with a woody spice. Sulfur, gunpowder, fresh extinguished match. In addition, slightly spiced wild berry jam and plum jam, a trace of malt and somehow plastic

Palate: intense and sweet, very deep. Again berry jam, plum jam and cinnamon. This is followed by severely burnt caramel and again a little bit of sulfur, in addition the taste reminds of sugar cane and sultanas.

Finish: Long and intense, very warm and dry. Dried orange slices, peppered with cloves and briefly flamed. Then follow the matches again.

Conclusion: Strict, heavy, own and not as meaty as many a Mortlach. For sherry freaks looking for just such a heavy malt: Buy.

    83/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 130 €)
I thank the importer HEB for the sample! Original article in the blog: http://notesofmalt.de/notes-Speyside/Mortlach/Mortlach-1990-2013,-23yo,-55,1-HB/
