Edradour 2006-2014, Super Tuscan, 46% alc. Batch no. 1. Original bottling Expansion: red wine barrels Region: Highlands, Scotland
Nose: very dry, with alcohol. Dry wood, leathery and with sawdust. Otherwise dark dried fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. Toffee and raisins in the background.
Palate: Woody and dry, fruity but also very spicy. Sea salt and green pepper, a little iodine, also a decent portion of cinnamon and sugar. The fruit is much sweeter than in the nose.
Finish: Oily and medium-long, with spicy oak and creamy sweetness.
Conclusion: Nice but very idiosyncratic, young but already a lot of oak. 83/100 points (tasted 2015, approx. 50 €) I thank the whisky house for sample and photo
