Interesting nose, without water a bit sharp in the mouth thanks to 65% alcohol.... Takes water very well, opens up, nice dry Sherry taste with a bit of rubber in the end but not too unpleasant... Young one but interesting.

Class barrel, typical Rattray these young Sherryknaller, even with water still very full in the mouth, unfortunately also hint of burning.
    • Nose
Chocolates, dark sugar, cocoa powder, very dark sherry tones, cassis, nuts, leather / tobacco
    • Taste
Burnt caramel tones, leather, full-bodied, coffee, deep mocha, cranberries, blackberries, walnut, causing a salivation from alcohol, dates, ginger
    • Finish
Ginger, cocoa, warming, medium to long

    • Nose
      sweet, sherry, chocolate
    • Taste
      sweet, dark chocolate, spicy, full-bodied
    • Finish
      mid-length spicy finish

An interesting drop. The nose is fine, it does not hold the taste in the nose. Nevertheless, I find the Glenallachie delicious and very diverse. Delicious.
    • Nose
Immediately dark fruits such as raisins and date rise in the nose. A slightly tart fruitiness dominates. A slight hint of smoke mixes with some milk chocolate. The tart fruit turns into sweet fruit after some time. The alcohol is harmoniously integrated.
    • Taste
The first moment is relatively "flat". Then briefly flash fruity sweetness before the spicy wood rolls over everything. Bitter wood aromas arise. Slight sulfur and some fresh ginger are added. Adding a little water will allow more sweetness and fruit to rise. The water makes the Glenallachie something metallic.
    • Finish
Again this bitter wood flavor. Light biting on the tongue, sweet fruit and cozy warmth make for an eventful and pleasant finish. Slight spiciness and a fine nut aroma arise at the end.

He seems to be a bit young, but I may be wrong. In any case, dangerously tasty, liqueur-yummy.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Must have been one of those modern, wet, miracle barrels. I would not have come to 65%, all respect is well integrated. It is so pure that I had already considered whether my estimate was 55% not too high. Legger part, dat!
    • Nose
Smoke, malt and clear notes of ripe to overripe apples. After a short time, the notes move in the direction of apple puree with grated nuts and whey, before the whole gets darker with raisins and cane sugar. The ripe apples clearly manifest themselves as the main note, even if cocoa and chocolate notes are added later. Warms harmoniously, rounder, warmer, more chocolate, less overripe apples.
    • Taste
A lovely fruit and honey and chocolate combination with a strong onset and a pleasant bitterness on it, which seems to be slightly metallic. Nuts are also found in the mix, tastes very tasty for more.
    • Finish
The finish sounds harmonious and even, while he does not spend too much time. Just before a bitter note stops pleasantly, it becomes briefly metallic again. In the end, a memory of nuts is even relatively long on the tongue.

Great nose, good taste, leaving me a little too hot or young. It takes time and for me also definitely enough water, then I find it quite good.
    • Nose
sweet and sour sorrel, some cooked tomato and paprika, pickle, malt beer, fermented tropical fruit, a bit "dirty", I am pleasantly surprised
    • Taste
sweet, fruity and strong, ginger and olives in juicy sherry, some youth noticeable
    • Finish
pleasant sherry, noticeable wood, liquorice, burnt caramel, but also some metallic youth, maybe it is only the strong alcohol, which comes through at this point the most

    A slightly different sherry malt.
    • Nose
Nutty on the first Schnief :). But also a bit musty, sour, sulphurous. Coconut, dry sherry, demara sugar, floral, maybe chocolate. 44 points
    • Taste
oily with even noses on the glass. Sweet oha, really sweet. Dry sherry with earthy-woody aromas. Very special, it lacks dominating chocolate and dark fruit notes. Or is it? After a while, these flavors come on. Cassis, jam, some chocolate and raisins / dried fruit, coffee / espresso. 43 points
    • Finish
long, warm, sweet, slightly smoky, woody.
