Whisky Reviews for Old Pulteney 1997 McG

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 72.00 points

  1. Lafroy scored this whisky 68 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Barely grinded grains, malted barley, grass, hay, curry and a little bit of sea saltiness. Additionally, some notes of sweetness, melon or watermelon peel.
    • Taste
Salted nuts, a lot of dryness dominated by last and grass. Some notes of ocean. Hints of hazelnuts, crackers, cold salted French fries.
    • Finish
Medium long, very salty with young and fresh alcohol.

  2. Sir Provenance did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Original Tasting Notes:A punchy little Pulteney on the nose, big on dried malt, freshly cut damp grass and seaside rock pools. The lively palate carries clean, fresh qualities initially, leading to a sweeter, rich edge which runs over to the long fruity finish, which then shows a more maritime quality.
