1472) Ireland, 2003/2014, 11YO, The Nectar Of The Daily Drams

Had a good night sleep, woke up with crisp air after a long night of rains. Child not at home, quiet and peace, and feel like the times are set the slow motion. Brew a coffee, tune my astro-go to CNN to watch some "fake" statement from the Trumpy, and best time for a relaxing fruity dram.
    • Nose
N- Had much scotch lately, so when this direct delicious buttery fruitiness hit the nose, can't help but groan with pleasure. The top note of polish that evokes to grape bubblegum, scents of floral with malts, fresh mints and charred wood shaves. Quite terrific spices, cinnamon and dust of dried fruits. (88/22)
    • Taste
P- Charred toast, nutty and elegantly sweet, grapefruit candy with good gushes of sweet strength whirl around the nose. Liquorice syrup coated nutmeg. (87/21)
    • Finish
F- Medium, enjoyable and delicious, not a dram to look for depth but just to enjoy the simple and direct fruitiness of it. (87/21)

B/B- 88/22 Beautifully weight with pure fruitiness without any fake Trumpy element.

Big honey, with a floral background. Pretty grassy and earthy. The fruitiness appears after a while, especially lemon, lime and pineapple, plus cinnamon as well.
    • Taste
      86 86
Pretty fruity, with honey and some cooking spices. Bitter orange peel, some oakiness and grassy notes.
    • Finish
      87 87
A rather fresh finishing, with lots of fruits, and slightly bitter in the tailing end.

    Blind tasting of a sample.

Reminds me of Tullamore Dew. This one is more complex but the taste and finish have some mould tones.
    • Nose
Sharp with citrus - lemon, cinnamon and cookies. Some caramel and malty - grains.
    • Taste
Glue - velpon, spices - Maggi, vegetables, gluhwein spices and grains. Yellow fruits and raspberries.
    • Finish
Blue cheese, cereals, apple, grains and some meaty notes.

85/86. I don't understand why this one scores so much lower on average than the Ireland 2000 DD (ID 66807). They are really comparable in my opinion, and this one is perhaps even slightly more complex.
    • Nose
Banana foam candy, peach, citrus ice cream, caramel, vanilla and whipped cream. Fresh leaves from a plant.
    • Taste
A sweet, slightly artificial fruitiness. Pineapple in syrup, banana foam candy and peach ice cream. But also clearly a fresh 'green' component: Pine needles and a grassy touch.
    • Finish
Pineapple and banana. Tropical fruit chewing gum. Peach yoghurt and creamy caramel. The pine forest in the background. Eventually some almond.
