  1. Calmar scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

I did not expect such dryness, I thought it would be traditionally sweet; it feels like a mixture of dark beer and sherry Fino - not exactly my type of whisky, but I must give my due - done very high quality, deep and varied, perfectly balanced, but still 8-10 percent of the fortress oh, as it were, was not interrupted.
    • Nose
      Clear, moist, woody-lacquer, strong red tea, damp earth, chernozem, parched sour dried fruits, mostly prunes;
    • Taste
Dense, sour-oak, earth, bark, dry with light acidity from dried fruits, light peppery wave, burnt biscuits, leavard, dark beer, a variety of woody hues.
    • Finish
Cool, orange peel, dried fruits, oak bitterness, very dry, dry sherry, a bit of leavened wort, light beer sour bitter note, hops, prunes, dried mushrooms, in the mouth lemonade-fresh sensation, like from exploding candies.

A handcrafted pure Malt, which should have only a little more depth and individuality.

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
Bilderbuchsherry, alcohol perfectly integrated. Buttrig, raisins, from time to time a very slight touch of salt. In the background also ripe fruits, a touch of fruity grape sugar (those from the pharmacy), red Punica juice. Warms up, add some coffee. Absolutely sparkling clean, almost too clean.
    • Taste
Same in the mouth, easy drinking. No pressing alcohol, coffee, sweet-nutty sherry flavors, hinted oak, which is slowly getting stronger, caramel macchiato. The finish is then also a little alcohol.
    • Finish
In the finish again the clean Sherrynoten with something pleasant oak, the alcohol now warms up significantly. The finish is medium to long, in the end also nutty.

Somewhat controversial yoke. On the one hand, the magic, rich, syrupy, incredibly delicious aroma. Wagoma's application for a higher league and masterpiece. But the taste and aftertaste are not at the level of aroma. The taste is good, but too desalinated by a commercial grade. Aftertaste is short for such whisky. Although in general it is still very good whisky.
    • Nose
      92 92
Elegant aroma, sherry monster in all its beauty, fruit, chocolate, furniture, dust, liveliness (unexpected!), Berries, cherries, Sicilian orange, fruit compote, delicious oak, sherbet, coffee with milk, prunes, earthiness, dried pear, sweet pastry, ascorbic, dried herbs and roots, mushroom soup, perfume, chewing gum. The fragrance is concentrated so sticky, syrupy.
    • Taste
      89 89
Sweet, fruit and berry, herbal infusion, compote, citrus fruit, black chocolate appears. Good, but the degree is tangibly flushed.
    • Finish
      88 88
Continues to taste, but rather quickly dies. Heated, dry, oak, compote and drying from compote, black chocolate, citrus sour.

    • Nose
Open. Dried apricots, prunes, dried apple, ripe red apple, 'drunk cherry', ascorbic acid, wet just sawn board, hint - the woodwork workshop workshop (but very delicately), wet cardboard, heated in a strong sun tree, vanilla, sweet pastries, baba. 23
    • Taste
Moderate, moderately dry. Oak barrel motifs, peppers, pickled ginger, plum jam, dried fruits (dried apricots), apricot jam, orange peel. 22
    • Finish
From medium to long, warming, smoothly fading, slightly astringent, tannic, in a long aftertaste wax is added. 22
Well balanced, smooth, very pleasant whisky. Balance 22.

    Macallan 18 @ 43% (86)
    • Nose
With layers of light, sweet fruit and heavier sherry. You can pick out raisins, honey, chocolate, and oak. Contrary to expectations, it is not outwardly forthcoming though, and initial impressions are not especially strong or complex.
    • Taste
Sweet, sherry, spicy, and faint dark chocolate.

Body: Heavy, syrupy, rich, luscious. Water brings out bitter oak, and should probably be held. It does better with time in the glass.
    • Finish
      Spicy, oak, not terribly long.

Presentation: Obviously the price:performance ratio is the problem here. Easy drinking, feels luxurious and with flashes of brilliance, but not so impressive for the price, and in the end pretty disappointing.
