Aureum Vintage 2008 CS, 5 years, original bottling, 53.9% alc. Distillery: distillery Ziegler Aging: chestnut barrels, European and American oak barrels. Region: Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Nose: vanilla and marzipan, molasses and raisins in rum. Slightly creamy, very sweet. Fruit salad is similar to ripe fruit. Then fruity chocolate, Mon Cherie. In the background is a light spicy note, dry wood with mild peppermint.
Palate: Sweet and creamy, raisins and candy. There are again associations with the rum. The spices are stronger, the fruit, however, is less present. Cloves and a slightly smoky yet sweet tone of chili.
Finish: Long with alcohol, once again looks like rum. In addition slightly bitter wood sweetness, the sweetness is stronger towards the end.
Conclusion: Insanely good. Again not comparable to a Scotsman, but please not with a Obstler!
