Whisky Reviews for Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition

- This is a divisive blend-love or hate. I am the among the former, but know several people who really, really dislike this. Also know some, like me, that really appreciate this. Loads of toffee throughout, including black pepper on the finish. I can get this for $24. So, it's NCF, 50% abv and affordable-what's not to like.
- This is a very interesting blend. It is definitely not a “cask strength” version of regular Cutty Sark. Although there are some similar notes in the flavor profile, there are additional notes in the Prohibition Edition that makes this a unique offering. Although it is a pleasant whisky, I’m not sure I’ll be buying it again. It is better than regular Cutty Sark, but at almost double the price, it’s not twice as good.
Honey, caramel, brown sugar, citrus fruit, and linseed oil.
Dark brown sugar, pepper, toffee, oak wood, baking spice, and vanilla.
Tingles the tongue (probably due to the 50% ABV boosted with grain whisky), with a fading vanilla and caramel note, not unlike bourbon. There is also a lingering spice note.
