T: Oh dear, what's happening here. A little sherry on the arrival turns to an almost Chenin Blanc quality/curiosity on development. Give it time to settle and it behaves more coherently with a bubblegum sweetness stabilising things slightly, but then there's some quirky lemon cleaner product. It fights for it’s reputation as the burnt caramel char and a herbal touch attempt to redeem things.
F: Listerine! Yep. Settles better with more of that caramel char that seems to help the cause.
C: Much better after time but still some concerns. I have it on fine authority that many of these old timers [in the DT warehouses] are in desperate need of bottling, with no time to lose. Im sure it’s the same across the board and in general, nosing these vintages can be far more rewarding than the tasting.
