Got this dram as part of a bunch of grain whiskies from Macerik. Left it (as usual) in the glass for approx. 30-45 minutes before tasting it.

Nice sweet nose (like often with grain whiskies). Tropical fruit all over the place.
    • Taste

Just a bit of water added. Nice full body. A touch of bitterness in the background, but the fruit rules.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium long. For me the least part of the dram. Bit dry and somewhat bitter. For me the fruit can hardly be found in the finish.

Part 2 of 4 Wow. I am really impressed! Hello grain whisky...As i wrote before I'm not that big of a grain fan but this definitely is wonderful liquid! This is something to look out for. It's very mature and well flavored. There's a lot of layered depth going on. Something you would expect with a more expensive single malt but this proves Grain can get there too. It just needs more time in the casks I guess. I think for me this one works better without any water.Second in line of my little grain tasting and what a big surprise this is!

    • Nose
OK this is serious stuff! Nice big well rounded nose on this one. Peach, fresh apples and some tropical fruit hints. No trace of the typical glue and even the vanilla is not that clearly present. It is there but in a subtle way. More like Vanilla honey or something. Minty note in the back as well.
    • Taste
Well this is more than fine! Chocolate, vanilla, Sweet lemonade syrup. I'm impressed. This is very rich, well matured and full bodied. At some moments it reminds me of a bonbon stuffed with some kind of nutty liquor. A very nice milky mouthfeel. This is seriously good stuff!
    • Finish
It does hold on to a high level of quality! There is a quick nice and very 'loud' sweet note I can't get my hands on. Can't come up with the name but it's delightful. The finish is sweet. Loads of vanilla here and some milk chocolate.  There are definitely  herbs here. The herbs keep hanging in there. Very very nice!

had this dram in a line up of 9 Single Grain whiskies at the Dutch Whisky Society.

Next to it was it's sister cask WB 64687 D. Stirk for the Pot Still (53.7%)  In comparison this one is watery but when water is added to the Pot Still one, the taste comes very close.

A very creamy and full-mouthed Invergordon. Good cask selection by David Stirk!
    • Nose
Freshly baked fruit cake. Later on pencil shavings. Sawdust. Sandal wood and pine resin against a biscuity background. Hints of vanilla yoghurt as well.
    • Taste
Waxy and creamy toasted oak. Fudgy almost. Lots of sweetness of honey and vanilla. Buttery too. Coffee toffee.
    • Finish
Long and sweet. Light spices of pepper and nutmeg. Some mint at the end.
