It's a surprisingly complex dram. If nothing extraordinary, it tells a beautiful story and remains easy to drink.
    • Nose
Nose quite woody at first sight. Good acidity also emerges. Lemon mainly. More surprising a floral side is also present with a small dose of violet. Mint is also present. It's fresh. It is rather punchy for 43%. At aeration we have some fresh almond and cocoa.
    • Taste
The mouth is acidic. We stay on the wood, and the citrus fruits. It's quite oily and honeyed.
    • Finish
Finish quite short, sweet enough on honey all flower and lemon confit. Green wood makes it a little spicy and spearmint comes back to bring freshness.

Very nice - actually pretty good - if it had more abv it would really remind me on some great old owner casks of Yamazaki
    • Nose
Fresh, citrus fruits, passion fruits, tropical fruits, touch of sweet vanilla and oak wood, sugar and honey
    • Taste
Oily and liquorice, fruity like citrus fruits, oranges, mint drops, ginger, spices, peppery
    • Finish
      Long and warm, very smooth

This would be a great daily dream if it wasn't so damn expensive (200€ a bottle)... Easy drinking, fresh and fruity. The lower ABV of 43% didn't bother me at all. Since this is so expensive, I'll take Teeling Single Malt or Balblair 1997 as a good alternative for daily dram.

Man smells delicious, strong with vanilla and extremely sherry. The color is dark and that's how it tastes. Very harmonious, round in the taste. Simply great!

Fresh and fruity with decent wood notes. There is even a little nutty and leathery taste and the subtle sweetness makes it very enjoyable. Good stuff!

A limited edition of Yamazaki released in 2014.  A perfect daily dram.
While this is a No-Age whisky, Suntory has disclosed the whisky
consists of 3 types of malt: 20-year-old Yamazaki whiskies aged in
sherry casks; 20-year-old Yamazaki whiskies aged in ex-port casks; and a
younger Yamazaki malt matured in American oak casks.

A fancy bottle like 1984 vintage uses of some old rare malt (port casks from yamazaki!), all at a reasonable price.
