I think they are very similar. And here I miss the blatant smoke and the PLV is completely wrong.
    • Nose
Sweet grapes make it through the smoke first. Stronger than his partner in the nose. Something dark chocolate comes through.
    • Taste
Stronger in the beginning, something sharp comes with. After that, very sweet. Again white wine comes through. At the back the oak barrels seasoning.
    • Finish
      Longer than the Meleanger.

Unfortunately, in this case, I have to speak a devastating judgment:

In the nose you have an interesting fruity smokiness and a slight sweetness also resonates.
The taste then the naked disappointment. Just like with his brother, the "bums" are simply missing here. Whether it's the lean barrels or just the "low" alcohol content, I'll leave it to you. Except for a short smoke and a metallic note, I would never have bet on an Octomore.

You can really save this Octomore now. I know all the others, but that's not even B-Laddie worthy of the Spirit ... too bad *

I just have to smile about the price (it almost seems to me that some bottlers are following the motto: "The more expensive, the less drunk, then you can fill up" crap ", nobody notices".

A good Octomore, greedy, finer than the previous ones, which still lacks a little complexity to go further. On the other hand the price (225 €) is abused.
    • Nose
very peaty, but like the others Octomore not necessarily more than some Laphroaig or Ardbeg, first on lemon, vanilla, even a brioche side and then the Sauternes is more and more evident with the opening, peach, apricot, honey.
    • Taste
very thick texture, honeyed, quite sweet, the 50% do not feel, a little sugar and vanilla, the yellow fruits are present but less than the nose, it is especially the texture and the honey which recall a VDN or a Sauternes. More finesse than in the old Octomore. The peat is a little less present than the nose, the salt arrives especially at the end of the mouth.
    • Finish
medium length, more on lemon and salt, less yellow fruit.

Quite delicious but the Cairdes 2014 before had more humming. PLV: Mies. Nose: sweet smoke Taste: Youth tastes metallic. Smoke and sweet again. Finish: short sharpness then only slightly smoke.

Too weak for an Octomore. Here one would rather have bottled in cask strength, instead of watering down. PLV does not fit here at all. Better to grab the original.
