18 years, Bourbon Hogshead, 54.4%
Nose: very malty sweet, not very fruity, a little caramel, in the background strawberries in a slightly artificial form
Taste: more malt, almost like kvass, well-integrated bitterness, saves the malt a little from the extreme one-dimensionality
Finish: slightly astringent, but more of the palate, medium length through the fairly present tannins, but again very one-dimensional
Conclusion: You can not say much against the Malt now, but not much for it. It is a round thing with a lot of malt and sweetness and you also notice that the drop was 18 years in the barrel. It will not be really exciting. A solid drinking color without thinking too much about it. I would have preferred a hole in Lomond 17 instead. He can do a lot more for the same money.
