    A nice dram. Not a typical Highland Park profile as it is from an ex bourbon refill hogshead but has enough of the attributes of a good HP to hold your attention. 86.
    • Nose
      Nice inviting nose. Light smoke and garden flowers, pine needles, freshly sawn resinous pine, honey. Engine oil. Then a little peaty earthiness and more than a hint of sweet lemon. With water the wood came out up front.
    • Taste
      Honeyed toast from a coal fire. It is rich and oily with a hint of mineral oil smoke balanced with sweetness. Spicy (cinammon) and peppery and with coffee and cocoa notes coming through. Hint of menthol right at the end.
    • Finish
      Medium and quite drying. Cocoa and coffee notes hold then fade to reveal lemon and menthol.

    NOSE: Green fruits, yellow fruits. With time more tropical fruits; dried coconut, a little sulphur. (88p)
    TASTE: Sweet and sour, bitter and fruity, some white pepper & ginger, a bit oily. With time it all comes together, also adds a little smoke (90p)
    EXIT: Astringent, white peppery, coal smoke, very fruity. Also gives me a slight anesthetic feeling (88-89p)

    SMWS Tasting Notes
    Colour: Buttercup
    Flavour Profile: Lightly peated

    A first impression of peach and rose Turkish delight. And
    then a delicious romp of carrot cake, golden syrup and buttered crumpet. Warm
    cedar wood polished with linseed oil. Distant burning heather moors. The
    mouthfeel is chunky and meaty with soy and black pepper. Hessian bags full of
    ash. Salted caramel, butterscotch and dark chocolate. Water released mint and
    crispy seaweed. Waxed jackets and new Wellington boots. The finale is ash
    smoked sausage and menthol cigarettes. The panel agreed that it was like been
    grabbed up and rolled around in lavender, damp moss and heather. What a

    • Nose
      A touch of acetone. Yeast and malt. Pungent jasmine. Pepper. Honey. Exotic fruits. Flowering heather in peat loam. Brine, and mineral notes - coastal elements. A certain light acidity. Light overall, but at the same time, deep and rich with the strength of the alcohol.
    • Taste
      Savoury grilled courgette. Close-packed flavours including spicy buttery biscuit and fresh chopped herbs. Sweeter with water. Lots of honey. Panettone. 
    • Finish
      Lemon and more lemon. Honey. Some sour lemon. More honey. Gentle, subtle smoke. Ash.
