Whisky Reviews for Littlemill 1988 G&C

7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.59 points

    Beautiful LM.
Not quite as fruity as some, more committed to the classic Lowland style: hay, grassy, fresh, a few cereal notes - and yes, the fruitiness of Littlemills is also present. Good body, balanced.

    Another excellent Littlemill.
    • Nose
A trademark fruity Littlemill. Grapefruit, peach, freshly squeezed oranges and pickled lemon. But also hints of vanilla, cookie dough, nougat, wood shavings and damp cardboard. Delicate and complex. Awesome stuff.
    • Taste
A nice oily, buttery mouthfeel. A quick hit of chili pepper and pickled ginger, followed by a burst of pink grapefruit. It mellows out, with banana and pineapple.
    • Finish
      Long with a fruity sweetness.

A very impressive cask from G&co.
    • Nose
Diluted Hartwall retro label apple soda (shoutout to Finns, you know that odd smell), and some faint leather and tobacco juice notes - very faint. A bit shy, this one, but from a Littlemill that's to be expected. Faint whisper of smoke and some grease. Altogether this one doesn't feel as much closed up as just delicate.
    • Taste
Mouth: This is absolutely great, very well balanced and fullbodied. Not one bit watery nor boozy. Pommac soda, as in some other LMs. Ancient peach juice. Caramel tempered by an alcohol note.
    • Finish
Thai(?) fish sauce savoriness (a friend said "oysters" I think) and copper coins.

  5. Defeatless scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Nose: Sweet fruitty aroma's. I had an overripe Kakifruit the other day, smell simular. But also birdfeed (we used to have pigeons). Some sherry, caramelised apples. It's very nice!

Initial taste: Sweetness, complex. Leather, heater. Banana and pineapple. Little malt and grass.

Body: thick. Oily and creamy very good!

Finish: long. sweetness keeps coming and going. The typical Littlemill taste shows up very clear.

Price: For the quality it is a very fair price.

    Presentation: don't know sample swap

Comments: Sample swap with Turfsmurf, Thanks!
