4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.29 points

  1. Egge scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

    • Nose
      86 86
First a barrage of alcohol, but disappears quite soon.

Then apricot, a few cherries and roasted almonds.
    • Taste
      85 85
Despite 59.2% pleasantly sweet and no burning. The fruits are on the tongue, a little pepper and oak.
    • Finish
      85 85
Long finish, pepper, subtle apricot notes, the oak remains.

A good value dram, although the young age shines through a bit.
    • Nose
Very strong, irritating smell of alcohol at first, but fortunately it settles down a bit in time. Quite fruity with orange zest, peach marmelade, apricots, some cherries, papayas and mango. A hint of toffee.
    • Taste
Fruitiness from the nose appears on the tongue too with the tropical fruits playing major parts, this is complemented by toffee and fudge plus quite some peppery spiciness.
    • Finish
Quite long, rather spicy, peppery with a remiscence of the tropical fruits.

These are real little gems that really make you want more. I give the Linkwood 14 a 2+.
    • Nose
It really can not be, but I get a Bourbon adhesive grade. Behind it are grapes (very surprising in the finish;))
    • Taste
Humming the 59.2% hit and pull down the throat. So dilute and wait a bit ... with water much quieter and beautiful complex. Again sweet, a Nussigkeit and a great spice and oak note.
