    Blind tasting.
    • Nose
Liquid walnuts! Citrus, chestnuts, wallpaper paste and some wax.
    • Taste
Nuts, some soapy notes, fudge and some mocca.
    • Finish
Vanilla, malty, earthy notes and later tobacco.

  2. Heemhoeve scored this whisky 83 points Expert Senior

In terms of price / quality a good whisky.
    • Nose
light peat, slightly smoke. Sweet notes of caramel fruit.
    • Taste
Initially a bit "hard, rough and fierce" in the mouth, but gives this whisky the chance to be well absorbed and you taste a delicious full Highland Park.
    • Finish
      Peat, oak, sweet long finish.

Delicious whisky, sweet and light peat taste. Initially not very soft in the mouth, but wait then ..... your patience is rewarded.

A tad fruitier and less beefy/leathery peaty ness then the 18 OB. It's more accessible, yet drier. It almost engineered to me. It has dried apricot up front, which is new for me.

I really like it, but it's a shame they bottled this goodness at such low strength. It should have been at least 43 percent to give it the body like the 18 has over this. If you can buy this for less then 70 euros I would still recommend it over almost everything I know under it. It's complete by assembly.
    • Nose
Dried apricot, malt sweetness, European oak backdrop with honey.
    • Taste
Gentle peat on the arrival with a burst of oak, followed by short ash, then sherry oak
    • Finish
Toffee, hint of peat, candied fruit... Orange peel.. Back to peat.. Lingering long

  6. KayMeertens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Honey, dried apricot, vanilla, oak, very gentle peat dust.
    • Taste
Ripe fruit. Plum, fig, honey, leather, dried apricot, a little spice a bit of ash.
    • Finish
Fig, candied orange, peat ash, currants, a little smoke and a slight nuttiness.
