    Not my cam
    • Nose
Lots of sugar, rapadura sugar, ripe fruit, solvent, coconut, salted butter caramel. The sweet side is very present, if not too much.
    • Taste
It's very thick and sweet. Notes of very ripe yellow fruits. A not very delicate dram, which is not in lace. Monolithic.
    • Finish
      Long, intense and sweet

Maybe I was expecting too much from this 50-year-old grain ... From my age and my year of birth ... Maybe it was this end of the sample that waited too long ... It's not bad at all either but I am a little disappointed and it is not worth more than 84 in my eyes and alas I have more to give me a second opinion, the sample is empty ...
    • Nose
quite pleasant, on the nut this coconut or rather perhaps its hull, the dragee with crushed almonds, with rather discreet hints of solvents.
    • Taste
alcohol a little too present, with a little lime (candied?) but also a little too acidity of citrus, light green wood and something that must hold cognac ...
    • Finish
a little short, a little too acidic, always cognac, a little more green wood, alas still months of fruit, still coconut, almonds but this time without being sugared.

Too bad the nose is below, the mouth is very original and the cognac finish rather successful.
    • Nose
it begins as a classic grain on vanilla and coconut, with fairly ripe fruit (plum) and raisins in the background. A little alcoholic.
    • Taste
well above the nose, really thick texture that makes the attack quite soft and a little soft but the power comes gradually. Sweet and well marked by cognac, apricot jam, plum, fig, grapes. The vanilla / coconut side remains in the background. Very original.
    • Finish
quite long, very slightly woody, more dried fruits and spices now.

  5. Mr.Sandwich scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

A really nice, elegant and fine malt. Although at a considerable price (around 380 euros), but quite worthwhile.
    • Nose
Very nice and elegant nose with vanilla, sweet and fermented grapes, chocolate and a pleasant acidity.
    • Taste
Sweet-tingling malt, which lingers with a slight smokiness for some time in the mouth. Then follow some bright fruits, but also floral notes (flowers). Very nice and balanced. No burning and after all the time in the barrel no bitter wood tones.
    • Finish
Medium to long with sweet grapes and very light smoke.

interesting grain wisky finished in a congac cask.

  7. Erik Elixer scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

tasted with Aby and J J
    • Nose
fudge, creamy - advocaat Melle candy, bourbon and rum
    • Taste
woody, oily, earthy - mushrooms, rum, raisins and vegetables soup
    • Finish
medium drying with earthy, citrus and strawberries yoghurt

    Tasting Notes from Whisky-Doris:

Matured in bourbon cask, finished over 5 years in Grande Champagne Cognac Cask.

Aroma: noble, old, dry sherry, a little furniture polish, dusty, suede, juicy raisins.

Taste: initially lush sweetness of old rum, Mon Cheri chocolates (dark chocolate with cherry and cherry brandy), warm and mouth-filling.

Finish: warm, silky smooth with a nice sweetness of vintage brandy, then becoming dry and endlessly long.

Comment: a fantastic and unique old whiskey.
