Whisky Reviews for Talisker 30-year-old

17 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.93 points

  1. Calmar scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

A very dense and firmly molt molt, fused, polished, well balanced, age-related, there is both depth and complexity, which is strongly revealed in development.
    • Nose
Open, dry, bright notes of ash and lemon peel, crushed rowan berries, hawthorn, spicy wood, mineral shades - stone chips, masonry mortar; sweet cream tones in the background, grain, new sneakers.
    • Taste
Rich, calm, slightly knitting, oak, pepper, notes of coffee and nuts, lemon peel, sweet cream and caramel shades, charred wood, dark beer, old leather goods, tobacco leaf.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, wood, knitting notes of young bark, bitter chocolate, lemon peel, a bit of sweetness, ginger, leaven wort, oily tones, very long, add to development.

  4. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

The nose was extremely appetizing, but the body then too lax, has nice notes, but all would have to be much richer.
    • Nose
Apricot, beautiful salt notes, very subtle, pepper, orange peel, grasses, distant, warm smoke, some fresh leather, tobacco, brown sugar, baked apple, red gummi bears, library, beautiful honey, salted caramel
    • Taste
Licorice, peach, citrus notes, marzipan, salt and pepper, but quite discreetly again, red apple glazed, dry, bread, dark malt at the back, some nuts and back grass and light ash
    • Finish
Medium to long, lemon grass, hazelnuts, some toffee and marzipan with a hint of smoke

good, but i was expecting more as it is a 30 year old and priced as such. the body is too watery (i was hoping for an oilier texture) and would’ve benefited from a tad more complexity
    • Nose
orange notes, maritime, light smoke, new leather, light nuts, citrus grass, aromatic oils/yeast
    • Taste
oily citrus, rich grains, orange notes, tart, marzipan, smoke, grass
    • Finish
medium, orange tart and marmalade, caramel, light grass, nuts, marmalade and nuts at the back followed by smoke and grass

  9. ctu scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

Nice game with the sweet, salty, bitter, spicy flavors.
    • Nose
Discrete smoke. Leather armchair, tobacco, citruses, salted caramel, walnut and cooking oil.
    • Taste
Oily. Sweet start: caramel and marzipan. Then it will turn to: salt, pepper, peat, smoke and ash.
    • Finish
      Long. Caramel, ash and oak.

  10. Segens scored this whisky 94 points Connoisseur

For sure the best Talisker I have ever tried. I am not sure if I had such a great "smokey" whisky so far and this one is not from Islay! :-)

    Great job Talisker!
    • Nose
wow incredibly balanced smoke nose! leather, tobacco, a bit of lemon and sea salt. Incredibly good balanced and complex. I have not been a Talisker fan so far but this one seems to change my opinion :-)
    • Taste
now I have salted almonds and a bit of caramel. Generally a bit more fruity than the nose so oranges and black berries. Still lovely
    • Finish
Also the finish is excellent but could be longer as you do not want to give this taste up!
