Whisky Reviews for Bán Poitín NAS

  1. WhiskyLovingPianist did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

N: This is pot still spirit which here translates as 50% malted and 50% un-malted barley - nothing to do with the distillation stills confusingly. The grist notes are the most talkative, there are big copper notes - presumably from the stills themselves and a little woodiness.
T: Still coppery, almost nutty with uber-creamy ice-cream. According to the wonderfully passionate ’lives and breathes Echlinville’s’ Jarlath, It’s that very creamy, creaminess that the distillery was looking for in their new make.
    F: Creamy to the last
C: If you thought [new-ish make] spirit generally smelled and tasted the same, think again. This is distinctive stuff. Exciting times.
