    Potential for longer maturation
    • Nose
Rumaroma for baking, somewhat artificial and perfumed (Spüli?), Fruity Mirabelle water, wallpaper paste
    • Taste
      spicy and nutty
    • Finish

  2. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Rather in the direction of the Journey. Sweet, raisin, toffee, a little stronger (is also cask strength). Great start: strong, without being alcoholic. Sweet, licorice, some winey notes, toffee, fruity, slightly salty (?).
Finish: warm, intense, sweet, toffee, dried fruit.

  3. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

Tick too strong, but still the best Glen Els I had so far.
    • Nose
Fruit cake, raisins, berry bushes, speculoos, cinnamon, oak
    • Taste
Strong, slightly burning, sweetness, very dark raisins, rum, dark berries and grapes, candy, spiced biscuits, gentle spice, dark toffee
    • Finish
Medium length, raisins, berries, light oak remain in the mouth, marzipan

Aroma: fruity, sweet, slightly alcoholic, chocolate, cinnamon, oak
Taste: fruity, spicy, grapes, oak, chocolate, coffee
Finish: long, fruity, malt, marzipan, oak

  6. Teekanne scored this whisky 90 points Expert Junior

Excellent whisky. Great different, powerful flavors with that certain something.
    • Nose
Reminiscent of the first smell of the Distillers Edition, but without the strong alcohol and the unpleasant Obstleraroma. After that, a nice aroma of grapes is released and with a little water, salted sticks and other pastries are added.
    • Taste
Without water definitely too strong which is why I already diluted after the first sip. A few drops are sufficient, which makes it immediately noticeably milder and reveals a certain creaminess. Acts already very harmonious in the mouth.
    • Finish
Unbelievably intense, with the whisky also profiting from a few drops of water. Beautiful malt aromas followed by marzipan and oak aroma. Acts very harmonious and balanced. The finish is medium long.

Glen Els Wayfare CS, Original Bottling, 57.9% alc.
    Distillery: Hammerschmiede
Expansion: Sherry, Marsala, Claret, Malaga, Port, Madeira, Bordeaux
Region: Lower Saxony, Germany ... Nose: Very fruity and very sweet with lots of fruit. Slightly alcoholic, but volatilizes quickly. There are sultanas and chocolate, caramel and nut cake, cinnamon and other spices. Then freshly baked country bread, muesli biscuits and raisins come out of the glass. Palate: Very spicy and fruity, with grapes and berries, oak and molasses, dark chocolate and some tobacco. Mild coffee behind. Finish: Long and with many winter spices in fruit, that's how you imagine a winter bakery - gingerbread. Conclusion: Brilliant - the crush on Glen Els whisky is justified. At least as long as the quality remains at this level. 91/100 points (tasted 2015)

  8. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Great whisky, but I would have hoped for the barrel selection more fruit in the taste. good addition of water makes it very creamy, supple and tasty, without it too quickly becomes watery.
    • Nose
fruity-sweet, almost "syrupy", red, overripe grapes, then a fresh-sweet mushroom note comes to it, with water become from the grapes bright red cherries
    • Taste
There is the typical Glen-Els-Woodsmoked flavor, as it is known from the Alriks - sweet-smoky, mushrooms, leather, then caramel, nut
    • Finish
      sweet, creamy, velvety

  9. irrerelevant scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Really sweet, dark caramel, milk chocolate oak, mirabelle, fermented, yeast, champagne, with water like fruit juice, in the meantime difficult to recognize as whisky, but has something like gummy bears

  10. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Less sweet than the rest of the standard range, of course, gains a lot of power from the cask strength.
    • Nose
Chocolate, nut, very fruity, in combination it has something of Mon Cherie, but mixed with Ferrero kisses. If you smell for a long time, citrus notes appear, a touch of dishwashing liquid, definitely very fresh
    • Taste
powerful, short note of nut, then a lot of chocolate, Nutella ?, red fruits, with water: it is definitely tolerable, gets a bit soft, dry and spicy oak, the chocolate is of course still omnipresent
    • Finish
creamy, the nuttiness becomes stronger again,
