Glen Els Wayfare CS, Original Bottling, 57.9% alc.
Expansion: Sherry, Marsala, Claret, Malaga, Port, Madeira, Bordeaux
Region: Lower Saxony, Germany ... Nose: Very fruity and very sweet with lots of fruit. Slightly alcoholic, but volatilizes quickly. There are sultanas and chocolate, caramel and nut cake, cinnamon and other spices. Then freshly baked country bread, muesli biscuits and raisins come out of the glass. Palate: Very spicy and fruity, with grapes and berries, oak and molasses, dark chocolate and some tobacco. Mild coffee behind. Finish: Long and with many winter spices in fruit, that's how you imagine a winter bakery - gingerbread. Conclusion: Brilliant - the crush on Glen Els whisky is justified. At least as long as the quality remains at this level. 91/100 points (tasted 2015)
