  3. wisekycourse scored this whisky 79 points Connoisseur

an almost watery perfume for the scents, too diluted, not allowing the flavors to really stand in the mouth.
    • Nose
velvety sweetness, well-presented malt, creamy vanilla and yellow fruits, also a little exotic
    • Taste
a little salt, sulfur, it is also spicy, back wood dampened by the sea and sodden winds, but it is also very (too) sweet!
it's missing back on the fruits too
    • Finish
the salty side comes out, a little wood and spices.

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

A decent representative of island whisky, is not particularly deep and varied, but all that in it is well-opened and perfectly balanced. Pleasant easy and quick talk.
    • Nose
Apple-citrus, slightly spirituous, rhubarb, kiwi, apple juice, mineral tones - sun-heated gravel, light notes of dried fruits - dried apricots, raisins.
    • Taste
Pepper-sweet, then woody bitterness followed by lemon-compote tones.
    • Finish
Warm pepper, soft, orange peel, caramel, medium-length .

  5. KayMeertens scored this whisky 77 points Specialist

    Quite boring.
    • Nose
Not much. Whiffs of cardboard, apple, honey and dough.
    • Taste
Cardboard, pepper, apple, sugared almond and caramel.
    • Finish
Re-re-refill musty nuts. Apple, wine gum, vanilla and cardboard.

  6. Kumachan scored this whisky 70 points Expert Junior

A dramtic lack of complexity, an empty whisky at a dementia price. .... Should a subjective note be added, it would be a 70.
    • Nose
Lemon yellow dress. It is very fruity on the nose, pink grapefruit, sweet with lemon, wax, herbaceous, toasted.
    • Taste
In the mouth, it is unctuous, very focused on citrus, pink grapefruit and its zest, cut dry grass, a bitterness that is not very pleasant.
    • Finish
The finish is short on bitters and lemon zest.

  7. ctu scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Not too complex but pleasant balances and easy to drink. On cask strength would be powerful.
    • Nose
Mixed fruit basket, honey, flowers. Touch of herbals.
    • Taste
Oak, spices. Honey and citruses. Thin start but it's fine to the end.
    • Finish
      Medium length, creamy, bittersweet.

  8. Schnappsdrossel scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

A mature whisky with an interesting mix of light and dark aromas. I like it.
    • Nose
Ripe peaches, plums and oranges, with cinnamon and cardamom. But also fresh with lemon and a salty sea breeze.
    • Taste
Soft and ripe, subtle oak spice, again dark peach and plum aromas, also spices.
    • Finish
      Gentle finish, more spices here.

Blind tasted and appreciated for much older - very tasty nose if you warm it slightly.
    • Nose
Initially restrained spiciness with honey sweetness, looks valuable but closed. Even under the cover, a delicate nose gathers only with difficulty - but what smells very good there - peppery old oak with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg - spicy but also round and oily old - sweet, complex fruit flavors that I only once come name unspecifically exotic. It is quite fresh today - so I warm the glass slowly: now come very sweet oranges, sugared lemon, red plums, mango, pineapple, apricots, mountain peaches, green tea, flower scent, bitter almonds - to marzipan, a little wax, always is also oak cargo here - spicy as tobacco - herbaceous pleasant always in balance and slightly behind the fruits receding. Hand warm will make the nose better and better - very nice.
    • Taste
syrupy sweet, tobacco, leather and mint tingles directly on the tongue, then spread sweet and sour fruit - plums and pineapple, then pushes spicy but hardly bitter oak forward, pepper, rosemary, even more tobacco, sawdust, milk chocolate, Tree bark, black tea
    • Finish
Oak, then a mixture of cooling mint - fresh dry, slightly astringent, ethereal peppery aroma, as from cumin seed and rosemary but without it tastes of these spices, tart plant aromas are very long on the palate, hardly bitterness
