incredibly complex in the nose, the taste changes from Sip to Sip, which I find quite interesting. For a 10-year-old (what kind of information you can get about this NAS) very, very good and also cheap (less than € 30) - respect!

first an intense sweet sherry note of raisins and plums together with brown sugar. Generally red (dry) fruits with an orange aroma and a red currant note (= minimally acidic note, but which is extremely well integrated), which got stronger the longer he could breathe. Looks very substantial, Oloroso and PX get through very well. Later a spice in the direction of cinnamon and nutmeg [I love this aroma].
    • Taste
      90 90
first quite soft, then a strong (oak) wort builds up together with cinnamon and nutmeg, which quickly changes to a tart note, but ultimately disappears in the course. The sherry (red dried fruit) gets through well again. The second sip is significantly softer and with a caramel note. Looks creamy and oily; on the third sip I taste star anise - it is interesting how the character changes.

medium. The wort becomes lighter and spreads throughout the mouth. Dried fruits are preserved for a relatively long time. Finally there is a nut note (hazelnut).

    • Nose
      Oranges, plums, fruits, nuts, raisins
    • Taste
      Fruity, sweet, plums, walnut, sherry
    • Finish
      Medium long and sweet

Very multi-layered drop also suitable for beginners.
Finish could be longer. Otherwise good.

This one was poored out more than 15 minutes ago and still doesn't give away a lot. Medium sweet in vanilla and raisins. Light oak and a distant touch of nutty - sherry.
    • Taste
Sweet spicy and immediate astringent. I miss some body and balance. It comes over a bit too watery altough you got that spiciness. There is at least a Little bit more going on in this one comparing to the american oak and the 12 year old version I had before.
    • Finish
Medium sweet and a like oaky finish.

I am a little lacking the harmony to fully enjoy this whisky. In addition, sometimes the bubbly-perfumed vanilla-Borbon flavors in the background. But still delicious and a good PLV.
    • Nose
full and with low sweetness, vanilla, raisins, hazelnuts, dark sherry mixed with cinnamon and spicy oak, followed by a torrent of caramel, juicy black currants, light citrus notes, chocolate cake with jam and cherries, nutmeg, it is also very discreet Auchentoshan so typical artificially perfumed touch and marzipan
    • Taste
Semisweet and fine spicy, Sherry, then astringent, creamy caramel, oak with lots of cinnamon and cedar, mocha, strong chocolate, raisins and dried dates, later comes vanilla, full-bodied and intense with slightly lively notes, a touch of ginger
    • Finish
Vanilla, sherry, oak, cinnamon, slightly grassy with a hint of caramel, a short flash of tangerine, dark chocolate and hazelnuts linger long

Another good whisky from Auchentoshan. This distillery is slowly becoming one of my favorite distilleries. However, I prefer the slightly lighter, fresher flavor of non sherry-fined fillings.
    • Nose
Interesting touch of strawberry jam and raisins. The nose is noticeably heavier than the other standard bottlings of Auchentoshan due to the finish in the Oloroso and PX-Sherry kegs.
    • Taste
The texture is slightly oily with even more raisins and the sweetness of dark chocolate.
    • Finish
Unfortunately, the finish has a slightly bitter note and is relatively weak, but matches the overall impression of the whisky.

    • Nose
Red fruits, dense, black currants coated in sugar, soaked raisins, old oak barrel, leather upholstery, brandy/rum-like motifs. Overripe fleshy apricot, dried peaches and apricots, steamy dampness of a hothouse, tobacco leaves, greengrocery, aubergine and pumpkin stay aloof. I also got some light vanilla, muscatel grapes, cream sherry notes, quite viscid smell indeed, a little bourbony. Ah, soft fruit's much louder now, raisin, date and grilled bananas intervene lately.
    • Taste
Grapey-sweet, medium-bodied, succulent palate, where bourbon and sherry components combine quite neatly. Prune, walnut, slightly briny, leathery, chew tobacco?, bitter orange, plus all sorts of berries: redcurrant, cowberry, bilberry, cranberry. Hot chocolate/cocoa, then getting a tad warmer, more piquant, with sweet cherries, mint, cloves, more brine, household soda?, salty prunes, dried orange zest. Refreshing cologne effect, tiny splashes of salt water.
    • Finish
Becoming sour, quite acidic/lemony, crisp, slightly herbal (citronella, succory), rosehip?, dried apricot, then hints of cherrystone and polished wooden surface, tannins, bitter chocolate.
