  1. LiquidThoughts scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Phew, difficult because I do not get along so well with bitterness, but otherwise nice notes, the nuts and toasted notes are exciting.
    • Nose
Interesting nose, roasted nuts such as hazelnut and almonds (chestnuts not), pistachios, some menthol, caramel sweets, a touch of glazed red apple and apricot are included, brown sugar, pancakes with hazelnut chocolate sauce, a bit dusty books
    • Taste
Sweeter than thought, first cotton candy and apricot sweets, but then comes quickly to the beautiful roasted notes, now including chestnuts, hazelnut, walnut, light raisins, young leather, caramel, licorice, chocolate rasps, tannins, oak, cane sugar, already good bitter leg notes
    • Finish
Dry sweet, sugar, chestnut and oak chips, leather and more nuts, freshly baked toast, medium-long, becoming bitter

not really my style of whisky but better than I had remembered it.
    83/100
    • Nose
strong notes of fudgy caramel, roasted nuts, vanilla.
perhaps a few raisins, cannot get any fresh fruit.nutmeg and a little ginger, german gingerbread
    • Taste
salted caramel and a lot of heavily roasted nuts, vanilla, popcorn, tarte tatin
    • Finish
      medium, spicy

  4. markjedi1 scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    This malt is a tad
too simply and sweet to be top, but apart from that it is still a lot better
than the official Glen Deveron bottlings. But it is not grand.
    • Nose
      The nose is
honeysweet with a truckload of vanilla, caramel, grain cookies and ginger. Add
some citrus as well as some freshly cut grass. Innocent, but not bad at all. A
touch of woodsmoke that is quite pleasant.
    • Taste
      It is very soft upon
arrival and first offers vanilla, ginger and oak. Then the citrus notes emerge,
upholstered with some baked apples. The caramel evolves towards toffee. The
woodsmoke returns, offering it some depth.
    • Finish
      The finish is rather
short, but sweet and spicy. The caramel seems to be burnt somewhat.
