Nose is promised a lot, though it was alcoholic. Interesting, divisive Glencadam.
    • Nose
Floral and fresh. Yogurt fruits, vanilla, citruses, Haribo, herbals and alcohol.
    • Taste
Yellow fruits, oak, spices, caramel, mint and herbals.
    • Finish
      Medium length, fruity, spicy, oaky.

A nose and a final really interesting. Too bad the mouth sins a little because of the cereal notes too present. This is still a very good whisky, not very complex and pleasant to taste.
    • Nose
Nice notes of apricots, vanilla, egg cream, yoghurt with peaches. It is very fresh and greedy. The aromas are present and the alcohol is not at all annoying, despite the 55%. There are also some notes of nuts, hazelnuts, but in the background. The nose is clearly dominated by fruit, vanilla and milky side. It's very nice.
    • Taste
We stay on the yellow fruit, apricot, vanilla. A fresh side, with notes of mint. There is also, and unfortunately, a good dose of cereals, which come to unbalance a little all that ... The unctuous mouth that loomed with the nose is drier than expected. Pity.
    • Finish
Alcohol soothes and prolongs the fruit notes, especially the apricot, hyper present of this expression of Glencadam.

Resume: A, as I know now, well matured, beautifully balanced malt with very pleasant oak notes. Diversified. Because of the beautiful balance 88 points. In the nose, the alcohol disturbed me too, in the taste, but I found the well involved. Notes from an online chat tasting, this time also blind
    • Nose
Welcome apple and pear, alcoholic. I find it a bit vinous too. Now I'm warming up, yes I know, I'm hanging, some gummy bears. Now something becomes too alcoholic. [Resolution now done: Glencadam] You can smell it really warm too. reminds me strongly of the Port Glencadam. But the taste does not fit, and too much alcohol. Really warm then with a lot of fruit acid, it literally pulls your nose into the glass. Fruit predominates, I can find a little bit of Crême Brulée.
    • Taste
In the taste very sweet, pleasing, biscuit with caramel and pureed yellow fruits. Oak and menthol are other strong components.
    • Finish
In the finish beautiful oak with slowly fading, fruity honey sweetness. Pretty long the whole thing. It's great!

  5. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Delicious whisky at a very fair price these days.
    • Nose
Herbs (dried herbs, slightly dry), freshness (mint, some salt?), Served with a fine fresh-fruity note (direction Haribo Goldbär white)
    • Taste
Also here Haribo pineapple, jelly banana (shell of dark chocolate included), to a rather bitter, but not unpleasant herbal note, some anise ... the high alcohol content is almost not noticeable
    • Finish
medium length, a rest jelly banana, cough syrup, good pepper

Good for sniffing. Easy to drink. But forgetting is easy here.
    • Nose
Very young and fresh with lots of fruit (citrus, peach, banana, exotic fruits), vanilla cream, milk, caramel. In addition, nutty (coconut) and more delicate honey notes, surrounded by oak flavors. Very balanced and well integrated into the alcohol. 44 points
    • Taste
Fine viscosity, many thin streaks on the glass. Again, fruity (peach, citrus, exotic fruits) and creamy (milk), to kräutrig-minty (influence of the wood). Dry and sweet, malt. I can not perceive an overly present and unbalanced cereal note, as described in the ug tasting notes (Akoo). But the taste still loses to the nose. Overall, he lacks the (palate-filling) depth of other bourbon matured Malts. Rather liqueur. 40 points.
    • Finish
Medium long, dry sweet and fruity on the above mentioned representatives. He is not creamy here and not sustainable.
