Great Single Cask Glendronach. Really great cask influence. Concerning price/performance ratio: 9/10
    • Nose
Sherry, dark fruits, plums, plum marmalade, nuts, overripe oranges, raisins, old leather, hits of tobacco.
    • Taste
Sherry, spicy, fruits, leather, oak, chocolate, oranges.
    • Finish
Long. Dark fruits, dark chocolate, espresso.

  2. p4blo scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    An excellent Glendronach.
    • Nose
Milk chocolate, orange zest, apricots. Nicely masked alcohol despite the percentage.
    • Taste
Thick, creamy, sweet and fruity. Oranges, dates, sultanas, but also chocolate and caramel sweetness.
    • Finish
Long, sweet with the fruity notes playing a major role. Gets a bit spicy towards the end.

Nice single PX paints. Maybe I'll need another bottle of it.
    • Nose
Milk chocolate, some mint, dark fruits,
    • Taste
Very soft at first, incredibly sweet, then dark fruits and even you chocolate darkens, then a light tickling on the tongue. The longer you leave it on the tongue, the darker the chocolate becomes, as a slightly bitter taste tries to force itself on the tongue.
    • Finish
Nice long, first a bit bitter and then very long sweet and mild fading.

  4. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
orange, fruity, fudge, spices - paprika, oily, chocolate, syrup, liquorice and forest fruits
    • Taste
orange, bitter fruits, coffee and spices
    • Finish
      syrup, fruity, coffee and spices

Great whisky and great service (sample on reservation)
    • Nose
      Beautiful sherry, mild, light oak
    • Taste
Needs a moment, but then it explodes in the mouth
    • Finish
      Super sweet, long finish

    Color: dark amber
Nose: Pure: as it sounds. Beautiful, intense but not intrusive PX sherry, dark sweet, chocolate, nice peppermint, orange marmalade, cumin. With water: spicier, not so sweet anymore. Does not have to be.

Taste: Pure: no pungency, wonderfully intense dark sweetness, liqueur-like, but immediately afterwards fine spices, elegant oak notes without bitterness, some tobacco. With water: more oak, not so round, pure it was better.

Finish: long, clear, ripe oak notes, dark chocolate
Comment: again a very good barrel, but only really good.

  7. Nilles scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Bottled just days before his 19th birthday. These two extra days would not have made the whisky any better, but much more expensive ... :)
    • Nose
Sweet and fruity, plums and peaches. Very pleasant and mild
    • Taste
First, the expected sweetness, warm fruit notes of cooked stone fruit. Then it explodes in the mouth and the sweetness is displaced by massive spices. Dominant Cassia Bark notes (A kind of cinnamon, but not so sweet), nutmeg, cardamom and a hint of cloves. Intense, dry oak notes make the mouth water without ever getting bitter.
    • Finish
Forever! Still oak and spices, until slowly a fine layer of fine cocoa tones develops.

    Cask #1732 is a "split-cask-project"

Bottle 001 - 300 are labeled on "Whisky in Wiesbaden"
    Bottle 301 - 697 are labeled on "premiumcask.de"

Bottling was only a few days before the 19th birthday.

The nose is biiig, particularly with enough air. Such a delight. It looses a point or two on the palate, as I find it a little too oak-forward. The finish however, is lasting and tasty. A PX-release that ticks nearly every box. Good stuff!
    • Nose
      92 92
Sweet juicy blue berries, fig chutney, and chocolate sauce liberaterly smothered over cake. Some dusty parchments, with a tad astringency from the alcohol. Liquid Demerara sugar, poured over ripe oranges and peaches. Nice!
    • Taste
      88 88
Spicy oak, minty, with salted licorice and cherry jam. A touch drying now, while still showing sharp, clear mint chocolate with high cocoa-content.
    • Finish
      90 90
Medium. Bitter oranges, mint chocolate, and espresso.
