Whisky Reviews for Caperdonich 1999 GM
10 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.69 points
Honey vanilla malt citrus. Very pleasant.
Malt, vanilla, fine spices, very drinkable. But find no fruit at most some cloves.
Light pepper and seasoning from the wood, but quite short, a shame
- Tasteful whisky, not very strong or complex, but nice sweet and fruity, enjoyable for sure.
Fruity, citrus, honey, vanilla, pear as well. Biscuits, pretty some alcohol. Also a bit spicy, pepper. Later on more caramel sweetness and foamblocks ("schuimblokken").
Pretty much pepper, a little tingling. Sweet, honey, some orange, pretty full taste, some milkchocolate.
Still a very little pepper, a bit pickering, tropical fruits, peach, vanilla and honey, Middle long, some licorice.
- So I imagine a nice refill sherry maturation. In the nose you have a nice interplay of flavors. Overall, very neat, but nothing that I would personally buy.
It seems somehow viscous, sweet, honey, fruity, a light minty note is over everything, waxy, almonds, the fruits are yellow and slightly tart or acidic, some dark chocolate in the background, coffee, you can already sense the slight sherry influence, if you it knows, and the corresponding notes increase in the glass with some time and displace the sweet and fresh notes that dominated at the beginning, and towards the end there is also a cherry note on the chocolate
creamy, bubbly, here clearly and directly chocolate, sweet, cherry or raspberry, here clearly sherry influence, espresso, tobacco, a hint of smoke, quite pleasant drinking strength, slightly sourish
the oak comes out in the back, dry, tart, slightly nutty, cherry, medium long
- The nose of this whisky is subtle yet engaging and promises some lovely aromas. On the palate it’s a tad on the light side compared to the nose. The addition of some water doesn’t do it any good as it tends to move to the more bitter and peppery side of things.
All in all a nice and fruity (springtime) dram.
A light, sweet, fresh and fruity whisky with aromas of citrus (lemon peel, grapefruit), berries (gooseberries, red currents, blueberries), appl, pear, pineapple, floral tones (buttercups, dandelions), hint of apricot, hint of spices (allspice, cinnamon, fennel seeds, cumin), vanilla, caramel, hint of old books, cedar wood, white pepper, ripe Mirabelle’s and subtle oak.
A subtle, sweet and fresh whisky with aromas of white pepper, maple syrup, candied ginger, vanilla, grass, olive oil, earthy tones, icing sugar, grapefruit, subtle orange zest, fennel seeds, caramel, hint of banana, hint of milk chocolate and subtle oak.
A medium long and sweet finish with aromas of maple syrup, honey, white pepper, floral tones and subtle oak.
- A rather docile, but
no less nice Caperdonich. Ideal summer dram. Around 70 EUR.
The nose is rather
light and very fruity, as we have come to expect from Caperdonich I might add. The
fruit translates into apricots, pineapple, a touch of banana and some mandarin.
It also shows some marzipan and milk chocolate. From the spice rack, I can
identify aniseed and some vanilla. Leave it to breath and marzipan will become
the main aroma.
It caresses the
tongue. All the fruit from the nose returns from the start, joined by orange
zest. The spices are more robust. The banana from the nose got the company of
brown sugar. Midpalate, it becomes a tad drying, but remains juicy enough to
please the senses/
The finish is fairly
long on more of the same, but the spices seem to have most stamina.
Light and fruity with pineapple, apricot, banana, thyme, lemon zest, anise, vanilla, marzipan and herbs.
Mild with chili spices, anise, ripe banana, milk chocolate, orange peel, fresh pear and dry sherry notes.
Medium long and fruity with milk chocolate, vanilla, chili and light cask notes.
